Been out today to work and done one house!!
Re did most windows 3/4 times.
After they had dried, some of them looked worse than before i turned up.
So re did whole house and checked every window.
After an hour of cleaning they dried fine.
Scrapped today, its not even that windy here, but its the gusts. I had complaints the last time i worked in the wind, so sod it lol
-
I worked three hours until the rain joined the wind. Half expecting some complaints though :-\
-
I can't believe persons even try and earn awage in this .
Clean them - be dirty again within a hour .
Wind is the main culprit in making window dirty .
You must be a fool to even attempt to work in this .
Amazing
-
Worked through the day and night last night cleaning a new contract (indoors). Glad for a full morning in bed today!
-
Just done nine houses in one road and went back to check some. Let's just say I'm preparing myself for a few phone calls later.
I'd rather do them and have to go back than sit on my arse doing nothing, as I'm trying to get finished for the 19th and had a late start to the month as I was off Monday.
-
Unless you try you wont know ???
I went in and tried and its no a go for me.
Another van has gone off leaflet dropping, so harldy dead time!
-
I couldn't work in this and then expect to be paid for it .
Proper bad professionalism I feel .
I'd expect to lose custom cleaning in this weather
Clueless
-
Hence why I did ONE house and left it ::)roll
-
Yep , can't knock yer for trying .
It's a killer when you have £100plus to earn and you wake up to this .
But gives us a break , tidy things up etc .
My mate tiles , 5 days a week , jobs planned in , regular £200 a day work and never gets rained off etc
Hard job Wfp , but manageable
-

A customer replied to my text this morning confirming she'd unlocked the gate for me. Er thanks, but I'm not going up my ladder in this, my parachute hasn't been delivered yet... :P My fault for not checking the weather last night really, and we've got it easier down south, only 40mph here.
So you've obviously got a full tank of water in your vehicles now, I take it you just use it tomorrow? In hard water areas like I'm in, wouldn't the water tank get limescale?
Some great tips about keeping equipment from freezing that I'll be using - will be investing in some thick duvets as I'm not leaving a heater running overnight. Will probably get a small heater for the morning to take the edge off before I drive off though.
-
Fine here for me in north kent, a bit windy but nothing out the ordinary.
-
thats the snow started now. :'( not needed.
-
Its great weather if your a kite.
-
Midlands, done 16 out of 20
Told anyone who was in that if any dried badly i will come back and redo them. I also reinforced that its not the rain that may cause any spots but dust being blown in the wind.
I doubt anyone will call me back as most appreciate that this is my living and don't hold me responsible for the weather.
The thing is people generally don't like to complain, its just mind games lol
Unless its lashing down my custards expect me.
Stands back.
Tony

Most systems your water will pass though RO and DI before it hits the tank so will be 000ppm when in the tank. No need to worry about limescale.

Ah that reminds me - a few years ago, I went through the house of a custy with my ladder (converted garage, not a prob, straight through, no corners to navigate!) to clean the back. Without saying anything, she went out and locked all the doors. After I'd finished, realised what had happened, got no answer despite repeated calls to her mobile (I always get mobile and landline numbers) I wasn't going to waste any more time so was very grateful that not only did she share a reasonably low fence with her neighbour for me to scramble over, but I found her neighbour doesn't padlock shut her side gate. Phew! Although her neighbour did give me a funny look as I walked across her back garden with my ladder.... ;D
Custy rang me back later apologising as she'd only popped out (it's always "popping out" isn't it) to the post office and there was a queue. Yeah thanks love, I won't be back!
