I'm guessing this is an experiment as home.

I would go down the bleaching route, not normally recommended for filtration marks but it's just an experiment so try different methods of attack.

Theoretically P/P is bleach proof so no harm done.

The problem with draft marks I’ll be back :'( ;D, so I quantify and don’t spend too much time on it! Powerburst or Ultrapak Renovate.

 Hi Mike

would peroxide work or is bleach better.

a bloke is decorating and has brought round his carpet to do so he can surprise his wife at Christmas the pile is about just over a inch deep and covered in draught marks

When I say 'bleach' I mean either a peroxide mix or sod-met' ( dyegone or spray n go)

If it's really bad then dye gone would be expensive to use, and on a customers carpet you would need to test in a very inconspicuous area

Ultra Pac or Ultra Pac and Citrus gel works fantastic 99% of the time for me, not tried the filter out chem yet, but seeing as it's the same company who manufacture Ultra Pac it must be pretty good!

So what did you use in the end?

Power burst , and hydrogen peroxide on the stains that were left plus some good agitation . And a good dwell time . 30 mins plus
Power burst in a strong mix seems to foam up and lift the soiling out where shockwave not as much . I still prefer shockwave as it's cheaper and a great product , I use it on most jobs and have no resoiling problems as I've been back to several jobs over a year later and there was no resoiling issues present and I just rinse with water with some soda crystals . Works for me

So you applied powerburst by spray? Then rinsed then applied peroxide?

Is this just an experiment? It looks a small piece of carpet to save from the bin, how long did it take to complete?

Great picture wouldn't want to do one on every job though, well done Neil.

Shaun

Ps why soda crystals?

hi Shaun

That's what i did .

I want to say I scrubbed it with a scrubbing brush but you cant be to careful who's watching  ;)

Just experimenting with the peroxide  9% and it seems to work well , that piece is out of the boiler cupboard so isn't seen.

Tried surgical spirits, citrus gel , and shockwave  peroxide wins
