Just had a call from an old lady with tomato soup on her carpet, any tips would be helpfull.

In my experience a lot would depend on whether the soup was natural or contained artificial colourings.
If natural should remove with extracation or failing that an enzyme pre spray plus extraction (thorough).
If it contains artificial colourings , ie dye , then you may need to try heat transfer method.

Just in case you don't know, h/t involves clean white towel and an ordinary domestic steam iron.............caution advised in use, as you could remove the carpet dye, as well as the stain.

Don’t go in gun ho get the tin/packet and read the label!
Also would advise on h/t towel to be damp.
