The only time I have ever noticed bubbles in my purified water; in the absence of any detergent, is following a period of immobilisation, when the water that is in the hose has sat there for a number of days- say on a Monday morning after the weekends inactivity. At such times, until the hose water has been completely flushed out, you'll sometimes find a preponderance of the little fellas accompanying the water in the scrubbing and rinsing process.
It never seems to persist longer than a couple of minutes. But, today, after fitting a new micro bore hose, I've had bubbles all day long. I can't say that I have ever noticed this accruing with any of the other new hoses that I have fitted in the past.
Has anyone else experience the same phenomenon, and if so, how long did it take for its cessation.

Whenever I bought new hose I would always flush it thoroughly before using it for WFP use as that's what 'Varitech' recommended I do and have in the past.

Thanks for the replies guys. I still had bubbles after 600 litres had past through the hose. Surely that amount of water constitutes a good flushing. I wonder why they are still forming.

If I were you id go check your windows for spotting.
New hoses need flushed out thoroughly, build up of stuff inside the pipes from sitting in warehouses etc. Plus a kind of coating that comes out the factory I think.

Hose with plastic inner lining is not too much bother but rubber lined inside I would definitely flush thoroughly. Any hose from DIY chains I would also flush.

I've checked the water for dissolved solids, Jonny, and the reading corresponded with the water in the tank, 1 ppm.
It's a new hose from Gardiner pole systems, so, presumably, very good quality.

Atleast it's not affecting the cleaning anyway. :)

Nick I get that to, wouldn't say it's letting in air not heard of that one. Mines a new hose from Gardiner I got the 100 8mm ThermoboreBore. Never flushed an hose before? The windows seem to be fine afterwards this will eventually go

Hi Danny, I'm wondering if the new hoses from Gardiners are made from a different material; mine does seem to be a lot more flexible and softer to the touch.

i get bubbles on one conservatory i clean every time i clean it!and have done for years!i thought the customer had used detergent on the window at first but they dry fine.
im stumped as to why though? ???

I have heard of bubbles in the water from new hose in the past. We have had 1 or 2 clients with the same thing - in these cases it was also with a brand new roll of hose.
Whilst all new hose needs a little flushing usually 30 or 40 litres passing through is sufficient. In that your TDS has not risen after passing through the hose it is not anything being added to the water. In this case it means that it probably will be agitation being caused in the water as it passing along the inner wall surface - this is my best guess, not scientific proof! This is similar to the bubbles you can create in the water when on the glass when agitating the brush bristles over the glass. This effect should gradually disappear as the hose is broken in and used some more.
We have not changed the material specification in this hose for several years now.

This may down to a slightly rough surface on the polycarbonate roof which as the fine bristles brush across causes agitation bubbles to form.

Bad connection, drawing air in???
This can happen sometimes. It is generally most likely to happen with a poor connection before the pump sucking in air.

I find bubbles happen when there is a lot of sap in the area from trees etc.

You're drawing air into the system. Change connectors, you may need to go back to the tank outlet before you find the problem.

I find bubbles happen when there is a lot of sap in the area from trees etc.
same thing happens when you try cleaning a window or patio door next to the bbq that's permanently parked up next to it and used constantly during the summer, easiest way on these is to put a degreaser on and scrub
