A driving instructor rang and booked in a 3 story rented town house, i cleaned it once no problems. When i cleaned it the second time there was no answer, so another month came round and i did them again ( still no answer)
I called a few more times no answer.
Found out that he moved house without tellling me!!!! But im thinking about block booking some "driving lessons" and when he turns up i can kindly ask him for my £20.00 he owes me ;D who is in favour??
-
Sounds a great idea to me
When he turns up make sure you block him in until he's paid up
-
or could just ring him and ask for payment first
-
Well that wouldnt be the point! He messed me around, he will of knew he was moving and will of seen the note i left letting him know i cleaned them:)
He messed me around so i will mess him around
-
Haha, sounds like a great plan. Taste of his own meds.
-
do it, book a lesson get him to pick you up, get in his car and say have you come to give me my money? lol

i would go for it.....but ............one clean one payment from now on dont clean if someone owes you

Why not just ring him and ask for payment? He may have genuinely forgotten or hadn't time to tell you he was moving. If it goes well you may get to keep him as a customer at his new house.

John
exactly it really is that simple..
-
If he had genuinely forgot why hasn't he phone to give me his new address its
Only 2 miles away?
Im past the stage of been soft, we know that when someone rents a house they know roughly when their moving as they sign contracts

Why should i take time to drive to his new house
For the 3rd or 4th time? I will mess home around like he has with me

well if you have got a number to mess around booking driving lessons etc then you have his number to ask him for payment so no need to drive round for 3-4th time, nothing to do with you being soft but more about professional.

Had a custie in a rented house who up and left having fallen out with the rental company. I only found out when cleaning the next time and a decorator came out to tell me. I contacted the rental company and they gave me the forwarding address - 75 miles away!
Three phone messages and three 'official' letters later (the final one threatening court action) and they paid! It's a principal thing for me...

what is unprofessional about ringing up and booking a driving lesson then asking for my window cleaning money when he turns up? ;D
isn't it exactly what he has done to me... booked me in for one clean, moved house, and I cleaned 2 more times without knowing!
so I added job to the system, cleaned twice without payment, called 3-4 times for money, then had to remove the job again.... messers need a lesson.
And as for those jumping on the band wagon saying '' keep professional about it'' well do you really think he is going to recommend me to anyone else anyway? he hasn't asked me to carry on at the new address( and he has my number)
-
just send a solictors letter to his new address he will shi*t himself! only cost you 2.40

The fact that youre still discussing it shows that you know youre not doing the right thing.
Either do it or dont - I recommend dont and I suspect you know that you shouldnt - but dont expect us to justify it for you.
-
Or the fact its on a forum and people keep answering like you could be the reason... Lighten up its christmas soon ;D

This happened to me recently. Custy works away a lot so not unusual for her to pay 3 x clean and I don't mind as I am aware of this that is why I clean the second and third times. After not receiving a cheque for the 3 outstanding payments I called round and the new tenant informed me she had moved in with her boyfriend two weeks before I cleaned the house for the third time.
Now my initial reaction was 'cheeky biatch' but after calming down I sent her a very polite text explaining that I had called round and had been informed of her moving out. She was incredibly apologetic and enquired how much owed - I said it was techinically 3x price as although the third clean was completed after she had moved out she had failed to let me know - she agreed to send 3x and a cheque arrived a few days later.
My advice is to just give the guy a call or text and you may be surprised with the result - I still believe that in the main people are generally good and this attitude tends to serve me well - ok I do meet up with the odd tosser but that's just the balance of life ::)roll
On a side note, when I called and spoke to the 'new' tenant I asked if he had seen my 'cleaned your windows' slip he just said he thought it was something to do with the old tenant! Load of old tosh! Why couldn't he have given me a quick call and explained there and then eh?
There we go - balance restored - one nice ex custie and a tosser to even things out ;D ;D
Cheers, Tom

I had one today, My own fault.. I took her on 5 weeks ago as a regular clean. DIDNT charge a first clean rate.. she was all chatty and desperate for a regular cleaner... Today... turn up, get hose out.. look in the windows.. and she has moved, gone buggered off.... Todays Lesson... ALWAYS Charge a first clean rate....

i think its happened to me that many times over the years I might put all of them in the same category, however your not telling me that the person never once thought ( ooh I wonder if the window cleaner is still cleaning the old windows) she was obviously trying to get away with it expecting you to write it off. ;D
