Hi all, just picking your brains to see if you take on bitty work in your town? I have had a few inquiries which are quite a bit out of my established work. Do you do them or leave them? or put a high price in?
-
Yes but price well so it's worth doing. I earn more on my bitty stuff than my compact stuff as the prices are so much better. ;D
-
Price them better than you're established work, so they're not bitty; if you can that is.
If they don't accept the price, leave them alone.

I will if it's a reasonable sized job
I find that 9 times out of 10 if the job is not near your other work then it's a recommendation, they have few or no local cleaners or they have been watching you for a couple of minutes and think you're doing a good job
If it's an average 3 bed semi that i would normally charge around £10 for I price it at £30 first clean then £15 every 4 to 6 weeks
Once I've cleaned it a few times, if I haven't picked up any neighbours I will tell custie that if you can get me a few more then I can drop the price to £12
This way either you will get a decent priced stand alone or your customer does your canvassing and you get a few more well priced jobs
In most cases I find its the latter and you start to get a good sized, well priced lump of work

Thanks for this reply, much appreciate it. Never thought of the custie and word of mouth ;)

Do you double or treble your price? Do you price different for a monthly clean rather just a 1 off?
-
I charge double for regular monthly clean. More if it's less frequent.

Double the price of what?
I personally don't take on work that's not near other work. I find that when I'm too busy this work always gets neglected so it's best not to take it on in the first place.

Double the price of what I would have charged if it was In my compact area.

BITTY MUMMY I WANT BITTY ;D ;D ;D

Depends how far out of the way it is but I sometimes take em on and use them to fill a gap you just need to explain that you come out of the way so you just come when you can. If they are ok with that fine, if not no big loss. You've been straight up about it from the start anyway.
