Title: Hope this may help those of you who want to fit a van system
Post by: heath verrall on November 24, 2013, 08:18:05 am
Im helping my mate fit out his brand new vauxhall vivaro van, he has a 750 ltr upright tank, and its going to be a three man system.

Ive cut a hole in the side of the van for the skin fitting and fitted the metal box for his outlet ports , this had to be fitted length ways due to the wheel arch being in the way.

scary when I cut the hole , I used a 4 1/2 angle grinder with a 1mm thick disc, went through it like butter. the hole was 6 3/4 " long x 4" high.

So are the ports all on the drivers side?

Other than I would have thought that they would be more beneficial on the near side so your on the kerb it looks good

yes they are on the drivers side , he has a sliding door in the other side and didnt want to risk it.

Risk what?

Not wanting to be critical but I would have thought that is going to become a right pain for parking up and be forever on the wrong side of the road.

And it's not the most sensible side for H&S

yes I know but thats what he wanted, I will tell him to get another skin fitting for the other side, then he has the best of both worlds,

Hope that is the 2.9t version, but even then, with a 3 man set up that might be pushing the payload. Also, I would be reluctant to use an upright tank of that size, how is it secured?.
