This long range weather forecast has scared me this year so im going hot.
I dont want to spend to much money as i only have a small work load, but i want a boiler not a immersion.
I want to know roughly how much for everything and names of parts and components needed.
Thanks

H2 you read Daz's thread go for a shower you got reel and everything else. You will need gas bottle extra piece of hose sorted. You don't need water boiling just nice and warm to stop hoses & jets freezing and keeping the hoses soft. I don't go to hot incase windows crack so you would be ok to use your hose your using now. Thermo hose is better for hot or warm I would say as it holds the heat in. Cordwood a hot wash £150 and gas bottle sorted. Use for 4 - 5 months then pack it away until winter arrives again m8 😜

My uncle has a gas bottle as he wanted to go hot and neer bothered, so i just need litrally a shower unit.
There was a thread abit further down the page and there was a silver L8 one for £80.00 would that one be ok? I just noticed a few people had ordered the wrong ones so i wanted to make sure! ;D

make sure you get lpg NOT n/g which is natural gas.

I wouldn't worry about any long range weather forecasts they do not have the technology to forecast more than a week i think, a lot of these long rage for forecasts just "guess work" i watched a program on it a year or two ago.

H20 try eBay you may get a l5 off there cheap enough m8

trust me mate you ll be spending more than the price of the heater.your hoses and connectors wont be able to handle the heat.
pole hose you need red aqua-daptor hose not the stuff you currently have on your pole.
if your reel has a plastic spindle then this could go on you.
plastic hoselock on side of reel will probably blow
same on inside of reel if you have plastic hoselock.
all connectors have to be ultra tight and metal IMO.also thermobore is needed as normal microbore will not be up to the job.
then theres gas refills, car radiator hose on hot outlet to reel etc

so basically
get a water heater take of the inlet to my hose reel wack it on inlet to shower boiler, then the outlet back onto the hose reel, then get a gas feed from a gas bottle and an electric supply from the leisure battery i have and thats it.?
sounds simple if thats it.
only thing thats stopping me is i have an immersion in my tank already and i bung that on if i see -2 on the weather forecast,if not i use just an oil heater and carry on as usual.
I'm still not convinced on using an lpg boiler but if we have a bad winter i will get 1 and plumb it in on a saturday.
i got through last winter with my immersion heater so I'm gonna ride it out lol,i really can't see the point of using hot all the time.

why do I have to change every connection? I don't actually want HOT water just warm so it wont freeze, I don't have my reel fixed down yet so leaks wont be a problem, and pole hose is pole hose isn't it ???
-
there's a post on here regarding Amery heaters, they are only £79 and some good reviews

Daz there's no need for all the changes, I've had mine about 4 years its been fine. I don't go boiling hot but have had it quite hot and hoses & connectors were fine. Hose from shower went really soft but was fine.
I only work with it nice and warm as I said just to keep everything from freezing and hoses nice and soft so H20 it will be fine m8. I agree with Daz on one thing that of you want to go piping hot then yes may need to change most parts but them you take the risk of cracking glass !!!! 😳
-
H20 . You don't need to change all your connectors if you don't want it hot .i sometimes use warm water , I don't know what temp I never check .but I have not changed any of my hozelock connectors and there all fine .
-
The problem is that the water needs to be hot at reel for it to be warm at brush end coupled with high pressure I'm sure you ll have problems!try it without upgrading and see how u go on.
-
Cheers guys i basically only want warm water just to stop it freezing and so if snow does come i will be out there lol
Cheers for the help im going to order that one above:)
-
if you only want warm just use a immersion heater..thats what
i would do.
hot water freezes a quick as cold matey dont think this will be a miracle
cure because it isnt, for me hot makes more sense for the summer months with baked on dirt
very rare i hve had a problem over the last few years and i use cold
although i have filled from my hot water tap today and thats only
because my pole hose has been driving me mad ;D

Yeh but with me been 21 im still living at home, i dont really want to take the mick and use alot electricity as my mum only lives alone and i dont want her struggling with the bills.
We all know that the energy and gas prices are ridiculous
-
The money you will spend on heaters upgrading your equipment
as dazmond mentioned in a post above..you might aswell buy
an immersion and bung your old dear a few extra quid to cover
any rise in the electric bill

There is no reason why is should cost me anymore than £100, the boiler is £80 fee parts, got a gas bottle already.

I thought you only fitted your hogwash a couple of weeks ago?
-
Lee I did fit it a few weeks back ready for the winter but had it about 3 or 4 years, I take it out when summer comes then fit it back in when winter arrives. Can't see the point of using it thru summer and don't like carry that gas bottle around if not needed m8. 👳

I never understand that some say hot freezes just as quick as cold. Yesterday morning at 8am I was still able to work at -4 with hot wash. I had to melt ice off a conservatory with my brush, then cleaned it as normal. I definitely couldn't have done that with cold.

i should of made myself clear..i was talking about how it freezes on
the ground as quick as cold...my point was you would still get issues using
hot in winter...its not a cure all

Ah sorry, yeah your right there. I definitely wouldn't want to be without a heater now though.
It's a good tool to have in our arsenal.
