Title: vessel filtration
Post by: A & J Owen Window Cleaning on November 18, 2013, 08:47:13 pm
I have 2 vessels a 25ltr and a 16ltr.
the problem I have is from tap is 270 filters through the 25 to the 16=1tds
when it gets to 60tds I swap them but the tds  is 270. any advice on this mates.
have done this in the summer and spring.

Hi
Not too clear about yourexplanation but I think what is happening is you aren't monitoring the output of the first vessel.
If you only check the final output from the second vessel there is a chance that the TDS in the first vessel can accumulate way beyond the tap TDS water you are putting in!!!
I have had TDS from the tap at 85 and the output from the first vessel at about 150 until I got wise.

270ppm is uneconomical to filter by DI.
That must be costing you a fortune in resin.
Using an RO would be much cheaper.  :)

i have the same tds reading out of tap,to save on resin, you would be better of with an ro fitted i only use a bag of resin a year. i know that not what were you were asking in your post but thought it may help and save you money

After 2 bag of resin you could buy a small R O with 2x  150 membranes and di.

You don`t switch you empty the one closest to the water and put the end one as the first and fill the old first up with fresh resin and use as the second one .Come on get with program.
