Evening chaps,
I was working this morning, only used about 100 litres of water, turned hose at the tap and the pump stopped, I popped inside to do a couple of windows and when I came back to the van there was a funny smell!
Anyway it seems a fuse had blown but when I changed the fuse there was no power in the pump.
I came home and tried it with another battery, there is a spark and I cam hear the make a click but it does not run.
Would anybody have any ideas what may have happened? I don't use water fed all day so it's not a massive deal, however I do have a couple of jobs I need to use it for so am quite ken to get it fixed if I can.
Many thanks,
Gordon

which pump is it and how old ? have you checked the pressure switch ? you can check it by bypassing it and join the two wires that go to and from it.

It's a propump 5.1 litre per and bought it off a guy on ebay in June, I will have go at bypassing the pressure switch tomorrow and let you know how I get on.
Many thanks,
Gordon

That's your problem Gordon was it new or did the fella have it ages or did he get it from Taiwan pmsl !!! I've got a spare one if you need a pump its a flowjet 100psi used it for a few months, but renewed all the hoses to tricoflex battery and pump. I think these pumps cost over £100 ill take £50 if your interested. If you are my wife will be working at Eltham in Thursday morning cleaning a care home she will be there around 6am until around 8.30 am let me know if your interested

It was sold as new, but I noticed the date stamp on the pressure switch housing was 2011.
I took the top of the pump off and water just poured out of the motor housing so I think it maybe knackerd.

Pro pumps are rubbish,
I outfitted the newest van with them, you get about 10 to 12 weeks work out of them - that's working a full day every day the changed them FOC but they also seized up, took one apart and it was solid rust inside... :-X
Best get your money back and buy shurflo

Smudged, did you go back to the manufacturer or were you bought it from?

Just the guy off eBay, didn't seem too surprised that they were failing, I just gave them up as a bad lot and brought shurflo.
Serves me right for thinking I could get away with a cheap set-up.

One of the things I learnt very early with the WFP system is that 'down time costs big time.'
So I would always recommend you buy the best. I often hear people saying that if the part lasts them 1 year they have saved money. They only consider 1 part of the equation. Once down time/repair time is factored in, it becomes a different story in my experience.

I know exactly what you saying, thankfully I don't use water fed day in day out so I've not lost a penny as of yet but I do need to sort it sooner rather than later.

Spot on Spruce,
It was this that lead to the changeover, a two man team handicapped for several hours meant a loss in earnings not just the Inconvenience of wiring in a new pump.
It was a gamble that I got 2 pumps for less than the price of 1 shurflo but loss of cleaning time cost me something like 5 times that of a quality pump.
Normally I get the best, gardiners poles, tulsion resin, honda generators and pressure washers etc...
But with this I broke my own rule. D'oh!

Gordon it's not that old I used it for about 6 months and its been in the cupboard for a few months as a spare one incase my other one went wrong. As I said I changed all my hoses battery pump all to brand new ones. It's a Flojet 100 psi Flow 5.3 LPM that's what it says on the pump. If you want it let me know tonight as you could pick it up tomorrow as my wife will take it to work she will be in Eltham in the morning.

Gordon took pics of it looks brand new !!!
