Micky Boy, personally I'm a big fan of Unger I use ther green brush been using for some years and with the hot wash and its still going. Mines not that light but stands up to its own. I think there stuff is ok but lots on here will disagree but each to there own
-
I was looking at one the other day & wasn't impressed to be honest, it looked massive!! They might make good cladding brushes or be ok for large commercial glass but for normal domestic this thing was way too cumbersome IMO.
Brushes are a personal thing though, what one man likes, another might hate.

I am getting fed up with Gardiner sill brushes. I bought two last week and they are loosing bristles and wearing on the sides already. I love the weight and shape but for the money I think they should last longer.

Hi WCS
Two weeks is very quick to experience wear issues. Could you email me some more details with your order number, date of purchase and perhaps some photos of the brushes themselves particularly the areas of wear.

Unger nlite brushes are very popular and have a great range of sizes to choose from. The quick release jet system works very well, where you can mix fan jet with pencil, have four jets or two, etc.
-
Alex will do tomorrow. Thanks
-
Alex it's not a complaint to you just wondering if it's just me being heavy handed
-
Unger lite look ok but I can't find any quick reference of how much they weigh.
-
Alex I have been out too the van it does not look so bad now. Will take a look when it's light but maybe I was just looking to moan lol. How long should it last before needing to replace. They last me about 3-5 months due to the corners wearing and bristles falling out. Which makes it hard to clean the corners of windows

Hi WCS
It really does depend on how they are used. If the edges of brush are abraded along masonry window reveals then this can accelerate the wear on the edge of the stock and naturally the bristles on the edge of the brush. Every user can be different and what one user considers heavy use another considers standard. Email some photos and I can give you my thoughts on your brushes.

Will do Alex thanks for your time.

With no disrespect meant to Alex Gardiner, how comes a posting about N Lite brushes includes questions to do with Gardiners brushes?
.....................................
I've been using an N lite brush for about a 2 months and have found it the best brush I've used so far.
It is a little cumbersome but it does clean exceptionally well. With regards weight, although it is heavier than Gardiners brushes, on 1st and 2nd floors the difference in weight isn't really that noticeable.
The brush can also be turned through 90 degrees so it can be used in the vertical position.

What are the bristles like on the Unger Brush Ross?
The only information I can find describes the bristles as polyester.
I want to know if they are stiff (like a mono brush) or soft (like a flocked brush) or something in between?

Andy - soft'ish mono with a set of shorter flocked running along the middle.

I think you'll find someone else initiated that!

Ok thanks.

ive never used one but at 310g in weight im out as i use extreme poles with an XL aqua-daptor on my 25 footer which is my main day to day pole.its got to be extreme brushes and carbon goosenecks for me for lightness and rigidity.i have lots of awkward windows to clean on quite a lot of work and using a heavier brush would just be more strain.on conny roofs and fascias/soffits i need a meatier brush so radius sill brushes for me are still light and work well.its even more important to keep brush weight down on these jobs.
other than the weight they look very good brushes though.
regards
dazmond

Thats why i bought a few, they look fab and well upto the job...will wait and see.

This thread isn't supposed to be a 'Gardiners are the best' type thread nor is it a competition and it may be better to be a little diplomatic rather than bandy irate words about something that is after all 'subjective'.

The whole point of a forum should be to do discuss things in a civilised fashion.
Yes, you gave your opinion and I'm sure many CIU members will benefit a great deal from your carefully thought out words of advice and wisdom.
