Does anybody know the TDS reading after the water has been passed through the merlin ro unit? Also, how long roughly will it take to fill a 400l tank?
-
Hi Jon and welcome to the forum. :)
This is a bit of a how long is a piece of string question to answer.
There are many factors that will determine TDS out. Such as.. TDS in.. Water pressure.. temperature etc.
The Merlin likes decent water pressure (60 PSI plus) Much lower and it is pretty inefficient. It is fine with good water pressure and a good idea is to add a carbon prefilter to pass the water through before the Merlin. Some also add a softener unit as well.
These factors will aslo affect the output rate so how long to fill a tank is a bit hard to give an answer to. I am sure some merlin users will come along soon with their own experience to help you though :)

Hi Jon.
My Merlin fills my 400 litre tank in about 3 hours.
1 litre every 43 seconds.
Tap pressure is 65.
TDS in is 430. TDS out is 21.
No softener .
Cheers, Filllllll

Hi, thanks
If I use the merlin with a DI to do the final polish, will it be economical?
-
Hi again Jon.
If it is set up right with carbon prefilter and very good water pressure or a booster pump it will do fine. Of course a lot depends on your TDS in. Set up well I reckon 95% ish TDS removal is about the best you will get.
Hope this helps
