Title: George Systems - Brilliant.
Post by: Ian Rochester on November 13, 2013, 10:44:34 pm
To any of you guys out there who are not using the George Systems Window Cleaning Assistant, I would strongly recommend you give it a go

http://www.georgesystems.co.uk/index.html (http://www.georgesystems.co.uk/index.html)

We've been using it for nearly 10 years now and Paul is always listening to peoples suggestions and updating it to suit the modern market... all at no extra cost.

Where else can you get a bespoke software system for a one off fee of £50 and a full internet back up service for only £12 a year.

I've just renewed my backup and downloaded the latest updates to the system, one of which now allows me to email invoices directly to customers from George...Brilliant, saves me more time and money.  I asked Paul if this was possible just a couple of months ago, it's now installed and working.

I agree totally. We have been using George for years, in fact I think it had only just been launched when I first got it. I don't think anything has come on the market since that is better value for money.

Some may have more flashy buttons but they don't necessarily do a better job. I run a 3 van/5man team very easily with George.
To get me to change would need something special.

I agree with the above - It does pretty much everything I need a software package to do.

However, I would like to add more information to the invoices, like payment methods - two lines of footer isn't enough.

Plus , the option to include a promotional message somewhere else in the invoice - like in a box in the main body of the invoice - below the items being invoiced

Additionally, like others have said, I would like pocket George to be accessible from a mobile - as many of the palms are getting old & obsolete, and it's getting harder to source a decent used PDA.

It's still the best £50 I've spent on equipment for the business

I've got to agree that it is great, I have looked at other programs but always came back to George

The one glaring omission for me is not being able to have multiple jobs at different frequencies for each customer I spoke to Paul about this 6/7 years ago at which time he had a beta version but it never made it to the full program.

For really useful add ons like this I wouldn't mind paying for it as an extra module

yes i agree best £50 ive ever spent.why this obsession to have all your work on your mobile is beyond me! ::)roll

the PDA issue will increasingly become a problem though in future years although i picked up a brand new palm tx(still in its box)this year and i love it.

i want to keep my work on a separate mobile device if possible as my battery on my mobile already gets hammered with phone calls, emails, photos etc.

yes dave a bit more room to add more details on bottom of invoices would be good.

the new email invoice option is brilliant!well done paul.

As I understand it, George will work on a tablet, so if my pda packs up I  will buy a cheap tablet and use it on that.

Hi

Desktop George will run on a tablet running Windows (but not Windows RT).

Be careful - the next release of the Microsoft tablets will be called "Windows 8" and "Windows 8 Pro".

"Windows 8" is Windows RT and you have to buy the Pro version to get "real" Window.

There aren't any cheap Windows tablets at the moment...

Hi

It doesn't do texts but it does bulk eMails and eMailed invoices.

It also does "eMail or Print" so if you print a batch of invoices it will eMail the invoice to any customers who have a vaild eMail address and print any that dont.

thats a great feature paul email invoices!

as i bought a brand new palm tx a few months ago i think ill be alright with pocket george for the moment.so a small tablet running windows 7 would be compatible with the george program and a windows 8 PRO would be ok as well?

many thanks in advance

Its not an obsession.
The fact is that I use my mobile for banking, booking anything from appointments to holidays, as a sat nav, the list is endless and I don't need a separate device to do any of them.
Why would I fork out for a mini tablet when it can be done on the phone?
