Don't really see the point of only having the water Luke warm unless its the winter, Luke warm water doesn't really occomplish much, it's just wasting the money invested in the equipment.

Luke warm for me - just enough to get a little steam on the glass. Had a window crack last year - frightened the life out of me (and cost dear).

+1 - exactly the same scenario. Cracked window in April, not the coldest month either.

Outside temp was -3 my water was about 20 and had a double glazed unit go three storeys up.
Single pane glass makes pretty alarming noises too  :o

Quite right ... unless you are doing a minging first clean from mingingland in which case hotter might help.

Wait 'till you hear them creaking and groaning - you'll need to carry spare underpants in the van.

I haven't used hot but I can well imagine it can happen.
I think they call it thermal shock, if going from -3 to +20 degrees in an instant there's bound to be the odd glazing unit with some brittleness that will not yield with the instant temperature change and go pop.
Hope you're well insured Daz!  ;D
