What do you use to clean the stitching on leather suites?

I use huggies baby wipes to clean my cream leather suite, not really cost effective as they're not too cheap, but buy em when they're 2 for 1. I'm sure theres a better and cheaper way to do it though.

The alcohol in them will strip the topcoat away

Why not use a leather cleaner at the same time as cleaning the leather? - there are some good products about. You could use a toothbrush if its to only clean the stitching. Trouble is they take ages to dry to see the effect (unless its a small area then use a hairdryer).

Bleach (Domestos are 2 for 1 in Aldi) does it for me ;D

Have had quite a few leather sofas Ive seen ruined by general cleaners not knowing what they are doing.

Top tip. Dont do what I do and tell them their cleaner is a pillock. They will shoot the messenger. And of course some general cleaners get carpets very wet and smelly too, so best ask who did it and be diplomatic if its their general cleaner.

Stitching can be a problem and some leather cleaners actually make the matter worse particularly creams and gels.
We have a stitch cleaner that we use on other items and is safe on the leather.  It is slightly foaming as you use it and can be used with a tooth brush.  Best rinsed if you can but you can spray with water and absorb with a towel to blot it out and take the dirt away.

Ditto what Kev has said baby wipes are nearly the worst thing you can use and will strop the finish.

Just to clarify, I was talking about leather cleaners (via foaming bottles etc) as opposed to gel's and creams. I'm sure  specific industry leather cleaners applied via foaming bottles are safe on stitching...

Not directed at your comments just a general statement.  Even some detergent cleaners (foam or otherwise) can darken stitching and not really clean it. Leather cleaners are generally safe to use on stitching unless they have something that will rot them but most will not effectively clean
