When I switch on my pump the pump starts pulsating, slows down then turns off.
Any ideas?? or is it staight up and buy a new one. Thanks

If it has a pressure switch on it will do this. As it reaches pressure it will switch off. Have you tried running it with a tool on the end?

Yeah, but like I said the pump fails and turns off pretty quickly, as soon as I turn it on it basically just dies, maybe just a new one I think

Sounds as if the brushes are worn out.
If you get a new pump get an induction motored unit. No brushes to wear, and it should last years.
One important thing to remember with an induction motor-- do NOT try to start it with pressure in the pipe, it will stall and burn out fast.
Release the pressure and it will be fine.
