Title: RO output
Post by: mark6765 on March 12, 2006, 12:20:27 pm
I recently brought a 300gpd RO.
It has 3 membranes on the top.

My old 200gpd RO has 2 membranes on top.

Im wondering if you had 5 membranes joined, would you get 500gpd from the RO.

Does anyone know the answer.

technically yes, but you would need to have the correct flow restrictor fitted and have them plumbed in parrellel not series as they currently are.

you would also need a booster pump as pressure is F/A and therefore with more membranes a larger surface Area, thus reducing reducing your specific pressure and therefore relative output from each membrane.
