Fitted heater.plumbed it in and works fine as long as the water control on heater is set to min.
Cleaned van,4 neighbours windows for free and my own windows.had water heat on half way and the hose popped off the inside of the reel.the pressure and steam was unreal.side of reel leaking as well.oh and my gardiner pu hose popped out of aquadaptor!! ;D
Changed pole hose to ad red hose.now fine.the heat on the last bit of hose on reel was boiling!but the water at brush end was just quite warm!the brass barb that the hose is on will have to be a tighter fit and the screw on outside will have to be tighter!
-
Small increments of turn of the gas numpty will alter the heat.
Halfway around on the gas is too hot, you will have to play around when you have more time, to find what settins suite you best
-
bin this bloody aquadapter pole hose, the gardiner hot pole hose is brilliant
-
Ben it's the red AD hose that's suitable for hot water.works fine even with very hot water.the gardiners PU hose just stretched too much and popped off the AD! ::)roll.im gonna have another tinker with it all again tomorrow ready for Monday morning.it certainly highlights the weak links in my system!mainly reel to hose connections! ::)roll
-
The red AD hose is bullet proof , ideal for hot .
-
any pics Daz of your hot system?
-
That's half the fun Daz.
You'll get it all sorted then something else will crop up!
Keep at it though, it's well worth it.

What do you guys use to fit your microbore to inside of your reel?i have a brass hose barb recommended by Alex but it's not a tight fit so I'm gonna put some tape around barb and make sure it's a really tight fit then more tape around microbore followed by a tight jubilee clip.ive got a feeling it'll still pop off when I crank the heat up though! ::)roll
-
Back your pressure down. You'll hear the pump still running when you turn the water off most likely. Even thermobore expands with heat. double o rings or jubilee clips help.
-
welcome to the world of hot , took me about 3 months to get mine with no problems. :o
-
after giving up on mine i decided i would not be beaten i fannyed about for ages i even got a pal whos a heating engineer to have a look he told me to bin it.but like i say got all relevant proper hoses etc. think ive almost masterd it, ive the gas just off minnimum water just more than the gas and my contoler at 40 so when its flowing out its just over luke warm.to be honest i dont use it all the time but i get it going for first cleans it impresses new custys when you tell em you use hot water :)
-
Dave the pump keeps running for ages when I turn the tap off at brush end.I've set the calibration lower on flowcontroller(25)my flow is set at 60.makes no difference.
I don't want to be messing about with this all the time!I want to be cleaning and earning money!! ;D
-
I have mine at 60
Calibration I think ATM I've left it as it is - probably in the 50 zone , can't remember mine just works
Mine was the £95 LPG off eBay , 2nd year now
Don't use any hose locks with stops in them
Trico flex hose doesn't pop off .
Trial and error then your there
-
kempy your spot on with that tricoflex, its better than the clear stuff for use all over the van
-
dazmond, what i have done is used the washing machine hose to the hose real and then used one of the hozelocks (metal ones) they have small groves around the bottom i cable tide this to the real and didnt have a problem with it coming off all the time
-
Mike I have brass rectus 26 fitting on washing machine hose to reel.that's not the problem.its the hose barb on the INSIDE of the reel that my thermobore fits onto that pops off. >:(
-
I & a few others who use hot, use the anologue pump controllers from Gardiners with the external D/E control numpty.
Its easy to set the flow and D/E which will alter with how hot/cold the water is.
This will also help with connectors popping off because of pressure build up.
As for the hose reel internal bard fitting, is this on your new reel, try doubling up the "eared " hose connectors
-
Hi Steve yes its my new reel.I reckon tape and extra tight jubilee clip should do it.
Cheers guys
-
The washing machine hose I binned after about a day .
Coils up , blows off etc
TricoFlex for me . I guess you only need about 2 meters at the most .
See if anyone has spare to post to you. .
I haven't as I use it to fill from outside tap to van as well
-
Also wilkinson a do a braided hose , this is strong too
-
You can have high pressure and high temperature without any problems, it's all about the connectors and how you attach the hose. Like you, my hose used to come off all the time. I'll try and get some pictures this afternoon.
-
i use radiator hose from motor factors 4 quid ,how did you plumb your heater to water suply before pump or after pump daz?
-
after pump dave.some people on this thread dont listen!I DONT NEED ANYTHING OTHER THAN WASHING MACHINE HOSE AND A RECTUS 26 CONNECTOR FROM HOT OUTLET ON UNIT TO HOSE REEL OUTSIDE CONNECTION!thats all fine just need to tighten the screw thread.
its the inside of the reel that i fit my microbore to thats the problem!im gonna have a tinker now to get everything tight.
ill post some pics later on a different thread.
thanks for your help guys

if you want it tight, jubali clip it and then use a number 7 socket to turn the clip (not screwdriver) you will get it really tight that way, and you can use two if you like
-
Daz I use X2 Jubilee clips to tighten hose to inner reel
-
I would have thought O clips would be better than having a jubilee clip inside the reel.
-
You need a brass fitting with bigger diameter barb ie if your hose is 8mm id get barb of 10 mm then use 2 jubilee or O clips to secure.
-
i think your right there small but perfectly formed! ::)roll
ive put 2 jubilee clips really tight on hose over barb but it fits on easily!i use 6 mm thermobore but should of got the 8mm barb!i think ill order one now!! ::)roll
-
Thermobore grows bigger too after hot useage ;D
