Title: TACCA National advertising campaign
Post by: dawsons on October 31, 2013, 08:47:49 pm
My mate who is a TACCA member says he's been expecting some National advertising from the organisation but nothing has materialised as yet. Does anyone know when the campaign will start and to what degree?

I think Derek will quite rightly be charging a membership fee long before that happens.

National advertising will cost a lot of money. At the moment TACCA is a free to join organisation so to expect any national advertising to be undertaken is unrealistic. Their website obviously offers this on the web. Not sure what their plans for the future is but the trouble is when you start asking people to put their hands in their pockets a lot of them run for the hills.

Have to say the tacca website is working for us, had about a dozen jobs from it this year, seems to be coming up first page in many areas.

Also passed jobs to other members in liverpool and london for some of my customers 2nd homes so I would be one that would be happy to pay

It don't pop up here on the first 6 pages of Google round here and why would it?
Why would it pop up first page anywhere?

John, Google will be looking at it as an industry "authority" site. It has loads of links from cleaning websites and (I would imagine) lots of returning visitors. This makes it a trustworthy site in Google's eyes.

In reality that means that pages from the site will be boosted from that authority and will show up quite well in local (especially less competitive) searches. This authority will often trump smaller niche sites such as those chasing one keyword.

I've never been able to get the TACCA site to rank in Wigan, although it does for other cleaners in nearby towns.

Like anything sensible it does not want any association with Wigan..  :P

One thing that could be done through TACCA is commission some market research to try and find out why the vast majority of people never get their carpets cleaned on a regular basis. Is it that they don't think it is important? Have they had their carpets cleaned before and been disappointed? Never thought about it? Think it is a waste of money? I don't know the answer but armed with that information we could start to target that dormant market and potentially bring huge benefits to all. It would mean passing the hat around though and perhaps the results would only be shared with those that participate.

Robert, no not that. I think that was the footage from the BBC documentary. I used to do the "Oldies"allnighters there and "Mister M's" (separate club within the Casino - more soul, less show offs). Train from Nuneaton or the bus from Redditch then midnight till eight. I think I was the only one not taking something. The drug squad couldn't believe it when they searched my bag and found a box of sandwiches! Halcyon days.

Re TACCA.

Derek has done a fantastic job but surely national advertising is a step too far?

The cost could well be astronomical whilst the immediate returns could well be tiny.

Is the woolsafe scheme not trying to get people who don't clean there carpets to start by giving a free spotter bottle and the call outs in the hope that you will convert them to regular customers.

When I was on this organizations Face Book Membership page , I asked The President if I would be expected to contribute to The National Advertising Campaign

The President replied YES and if I was not prepared to Contribute this was no place for me.

Being an Honorable person I left

While the rest of you have been enjoying a Free Ride.

There is no such thing as a Free Lunch
I think a great job has been done so far.
I await to see how many remain when you have to pay
Title: Re: TACCA National advertising campaign

Ian it is free until a national advertising campaign is put in place, I think a minimum
of 400 members is required, so if you had joined at start, you would have had a couple of years free !! so you would of had a free ride !!

I will certainly pay, it is very easy to get the tacca website to first page which would bring your details up.
As I posted above I have had about a dozen jobs from tacca website, from an area 20 miles north of me, where an average price is for a 3 pc suite is £60, and I have gained work at £115.

Them dozen jobs at average invoice of £135 has brought me in well over a grand that I wouldn't of had, plus follow on work from future work.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and I think the "President"  :D has done a fantastic job
as well as building his own business.

Maybe I am Craig, it is quite rural, however I have had every tom dick and migrant set up carpet cleaning in the last 6 months.
Some offering to full 2 bed house for £60 with 3pc suite thrown in for £20  ;D

Not that it bothers me as my customers tend to be the type of client who wouldnt use these types,.

 Pre-Treatment

Used on those areas that are heavily soiled and needs a little help to break up the dirt. With the added advantage of conditioning sanitising & deodorising your carpet. Perfect for allergy suffers & households with children, pets, smokers etc. Charged at £10.00 per room

no comment on this one...

i think we are ranking well for "carpet cleaners churwell" john, oh and morley teetering between page 1 and 2. nothing special but ranking round your area, so saying nowhere in site round here  is not exactly true. :)

so you want the current members to take a chance and pay towards any advertising campaign and then if it proves successful you might decide to join and benefit from other peoples financial risk.

if everyone thinks that way tacca will never succeed.

tacca needs committed members and the more we have the more chance we have of succeeding in whatever direction we decide to take.

That sounds great Derek and I wish you and everyone else who attends a meaningful super day. However, when are you going announce the introduction of a properly constituted association with a democratically elected National Committee for TACCA, or is it your intention to run it as a one man band? The other question I have, if TACCA is already an association and it hasn't a constitution or elected Committee then I may be wrong but I believe you may just be breaking the law?

Just have some balls and tell us who you are. There's no crime in saying that you don't like something, its all the cloak and dagger pish that people get annoyed over.

Tony (yes I know your name), my IP changes every day as I always surf using a proxy server. If they check my IP it will come back as if I'm in the Caribbean somewhere (wish I was).

Here is a free proxy server www.anonymouse.org for anyone to use to hide their IP, although I pay for VIP extras.

I hide my IP as I have a right to privacy as under the Convention of Human Rights Act. Some on here (like yourself) hide behind made up names. Each to their own.

My questions still remain, unanswered.

I feel that a legal challenge to the said 'association' by authorities would be more than overdue, as I don't want to see anyone get conned out of monies by bogus people posing as legitimately run organisations.

I have emailed the authorities in question and they have promised to look into the matter. Mr West, I can only suggest that you register properly as an Association and start to conform to all the rules and regulations that in entails.
