ive had a few.more than usual!heres one
i picked this job up in march through her seeing me cleaning.shes posh with an air of arrogance about her!priced up £40 on a 6 weekly.picked the neighbour up at £20 as well.these jobs are slightly out of my main area but not too far.text night before.i told her last time i might be a bit late due to holiday.
anyway its about 8 weeks since i last cleaned them.text her and neighbour last night as usual.neighbour texted back "great.thanks darren".she texted back with"we are going away for a few days tomoro so can you clean them next week?"FFS im not making 2 trips to fit her in next week. ::)roll
i texted her back saying" i can clean them tomorrow as neighbours are scheduled in and leave a SAE/bank details when finished and you can pay me when you get back as im not making 2 trips as you are out of my way of my regular work!or you can skip a clean but price will be slightly higher for 12 week frequency.
guess what?she hasnt texted back! ;D
i knew the minute i took her on she would be a messer.you just get a feeling dont you? ::)roll
i will have to tell the neighbour that today will be the last clean as well as its not worth going up there for £20.
ive dumped around £150 a month in the last few weeks.thats a lot more than usual.i normally dont get many(if any!) messers! ::)roll

its a plague Dazmond , the messers plague and it wont be stopped now its as good as in winter
to keep on top of it i keep on leafletting randomly, not every week but certainly every month , then there is fresh blood coming in all the time
-
Young ones seem to be the worse.
Some need two or three texts before they make a faster payment.
We have older custies who phone up asking when can they pay!!!!!
-
robertphil i very rarely get messers!seriously!!usually a couple a year thats it!loads this year but ive picked up a fair bit through word of mouth and recommendation.
i do leaflet occasionally but its only 5 or 6 houses either side of a new job in a new area.

Simple solution - don't text'em.

Just a Normal day now you are having a taste of what its like for me.;)
Some People just want it on there terms and will agree anything on the door I had a £32 job that had told me same thing . I said no sorry its front and side or give me code for gate or We don't see you again unless you pay for a year upfront have already removed your details for the route if you want to remain a customer let us know in the next 10 mins with your gate code I also told her to make a £32 bacs payment in advance as these sort of customers have tendenceys to not pay to get one over you. She very quickly paid and text back with code. Others would just ignore or seek another person who will clean at demand for maintenance clean prices
I'm going to ask her to setup a standing order this way I won't get any crap next time the notification goes out and if she wants to be a messer all she needs to do is cancel the standing order its brilliant

I quote one and he asked about the connie roof, a glass lean too, the length on the house with very little or no fall.
I explained I did not clean them but on my quote sheet I wrote him the number of a local uvpc/conservatory specialist.
Got the job at £25. 8 weekly.
At the first clean he tells me the Guy I recommended was too dear and would I flick the roof over. I decline saying I only had enough water on for my contracted cleans that day and a "flick over" would not make it any better, it needs time or a specialist. He accepts, I clean the house, he pays through the bank.
Monday. I get there run hoses out and clean the back and side. He comes out and says I agreed to do the conservatory roof this time. I explain we have had this conversation and that I don't have time currently. He is insistent I had said I would do it this time so I ask him how much I had quoted. An extra fiver he said.
Calmly I turn away walk back to the van and pack everything away. I then go back to him and thank him for the oppertunity and that I would not charge him for the back or side but would not be calling again.
I got home to a message on the answer phone asking why I had left his property. Nutter.

Yeah stupid of me I should drive round to their house hoping:
1 They're in!
2 They have some money!

He is right in an ideal world its just turn up
1 they are out = front gets cleaned usually more profitable then full house on time scale
2 no money SAE? bacs
However its not always this easy unfortunately customers will need managing and can be profitable as long as they play the game and allow us to clean the front if they forget or can't unlock the gate in return we have no problem cleaning the back for the same price as the maintenance clean as long as something is cleaned they will always benifit

1. Why? I prefer if they're out - quicker, no chat and they send the money. I usually have either a key or code or ladder the gate or do front and side and charge two-thirds.
2. See 1.
You might describe yourself as stupid Positivity but I prefer to think of you as someone willing to learn a better, less stressful way.

I've just got 1 commercial customer who is dragging their feet over a £220 invoice. They are only a very small new business. The invoice is 30 days late (75 days in total now)
I might be tempted to use Thomas Higgins for the first time.
Luckily no domestic messers recently.
