Title: Porty repair southampton
Post by: dan paton on October 28, 2013, 10:18:03 pm
Evening.... Does anyone know anywhere in the Southampton area that can repair porty's . It keeps tripping the fusebox and the pat tester said it has low insulation but couldn't say where . It happens the second I plug it in so I do know it's not the motors or pump . cheers

Hi Dan

Is it just one particular house or is it happening at every property you do?  Don't know what machine you have but mine (Airflex Storm) trips about 1 in 20 houses and i just have to juggle which plugs i put into and try to use different ring mains.

Probably about every 3rd time I plug it in and there's no rhyme or reason to it. Works in my house ok and our place was only rewired a few years ago so it's modern .. The pat tester said the insulation somewhere was low to the point of being dangerous so i'm safer not using it till it's checked properly

It could be you have just had a series of properties with sensitive electrics, i'm assuming that it is a two plug machine, have you had machine serviced recently, had mine done a couple of months ago and they did a PAT test as standard and one the reasons that prompted me to get a service done was the remote control box had stopped working, wiring like, vacuums and pumps can all wear out or need attention from time to time.
