I've got the 450gpd but want to change to the 4040, what will I need as in 4040 membrane & casing, 20" or 10" sediment & carbon filter what is the best on size out of the two. A booster pump and do they do an electronic cut out with the pump that stops the water and the pump. At the mo my booster pump on my 450gpd is electronic with the solenoid which cuts the pump out. When the water hits the cut out switch hanging in the ibc tank the water flow stops two.
Any info would be great and best place to get all this gear, one more thing that would be great if anyone near tow can fit it up ill pay ya lol !!!

You need a 40" champ housing for the RO. It doesnt matter if you get 10 or 20" prefilters, the 20" just last longer, Gardiners for Fibredyne pre filter that is a carbon and sediment in one, so you only need one filter housing.
If you have a solenoid on your thank then the clarke CBM240E would be an ideal booster pump, it will automatically shut off when the solenoid shuts

Cheers Lee, does there pump come with the wires in the plastic casing so I can click it into the other plastic fitting that comes off the selinoid if you know what I mean

Prefilters need to be 1/2" fitting and all the pipe/hosing needs to be 1/2".
Lee, if he gets one of those booster pumps, then he needs to know if the microswitch on his IBC tank will handle the extra amperage before he just connects it up. He may need to put the booster pump on a relay and use the microswitch to trigger it when it triggers the solenoid valve. The doesn't say what voltage his solenoid valve is.
Gardiners have a controller, but it is pricey.
We use a float switch from Machine Mart that will handle 8 amps. We don't have a booster pump and our water is 40psi using an HF5 membrane. We process water at around 100+ litres an hour.
The solenoid valve is 220v normally off and has been working without issue for nearly 6 years now.

Spruce I wouldn't mind producing that sort of water at that rate as it wouldn't need a pump which does put the elect bill up. I'm lucky enough not to be on a water metre. Is your water cut out you got like the one in a toilet ?

The pump runs independently of the solenoid. As long as you have a float switch connect to a solenoid that stops the tank filling then the booster pump will work the same way as the pump in your van, once the solenoide shuts off the pump will sense the pressure build up and turn off.

Lee I've got one of those booster pumps that pigs into a plug that comes off the solenoid and the float then joins in a small junction box which joins the transformer was fitted with my old ro I got from Omnipole many years ago, so just wondering if I got that pump you say does it have the connector on the wiring which will push fit into the connector of the selonoid

No. Its an electrically operated solenoid valve. It is fitted on the water supply before the R/O. It is normally closed.

Part # 106904. When the solenoid gets current from the float switch in the tank, the coil inside the solenoid actuates the valve and the water starts to flow into the r/o. (Its like opening the tap). When the IBC tank is full, the float switch in the tank cuts the current to the solenoid valve and the valve closes, shutting the water off.

Vin from Perfect Windows modified a ball valve which fitted in his IBC tank. It works as the one in the toilet cistern but instead of water flowing into the ibc tank, he diverted it to his r/o.

This solenoid valve is cheaper and will work. You would need to provide for some kind of cover to stop water and fingers touching terminals.
