Hi, I find these cloths leave thousands of dust fibres from the cloth no matter how I use them.
Any one else?

Not noticed that and used em today. Got the smallest sized ones :)
Maybe its how you washing them or you are using the wrong side :P

I wash them with no soap suds on a quick 29 minute cycle. What window cleaner makes note of what side they are using as they look & feel identical on both sides.

As long as you are using the outside of the cloth you will be using the polishing side.
I always use washing powder, just a little. At the end of the day they get dirty so i use a non bio washing up powder. Been washing scrims like that for over 10 years never had issue with using powder.

I have found that this type of material deposition from the cloth will always occur, irrespective of the make of cloth you use or the washing procedures adopted, if the glass for some reason cannot dry completely; say, when cleaning internally on a rainy day for example and the condensation produced from your own body heat inhibits the drying process.

Ask your supplier for little waffle microfiber glass cloths, they will never leave smears or lint behind on glass and mirror surfaces, they are probably the highest performance microfiber cloths available for cleaning glass and mirrors.

The whole deal with microfiber is that it leaves no lint on the glass when in use. Have you used fabric condition when washing them? This will break down the weave and is detrimental to the cloth. The Unger cloth is of high quality so this shouldn't happen.

I use ninja cloths & love them, no problems with them, not had any issues using them, can not find a better cloth for any price! As a new starter I am obviously detailing more, would be lost with out these little ninjas :)

Tip for testing quality and performance of microfiber glass cloths, carry out this test at home when its dark go into a room where you have a mirror on a wall with a light behind you, proceed to wipe the mirror with a damp microfiber cleaning cloth, then proceed to polish off the mirror with your choosen microfiber glass cloth used dry, now you will be able to see clearly if there is any smears or lint left behind on the surface as the reflection of the light will show them up on the mirror, I have been using microfiber technology since 1994 and found this the best method to test for performance and quality, hope this tip can be of benefit and if there are any other tips for checking out performance i would be delighted to hear.

Hi Lee, Little waffle glass cloths are not to be confused with standard waffle weave microfiber which are used for drying off vehicle surfaces etc, Little waffle microfiber is a much smaller and tighter weave produced specifically for cleaning glass and mirror surfaces hence they will not leave smears or lint behind on the surface, just use one damp with water to clean surface then use a second one dry to polish off for a perfect streak free and lint free finish, these little waffle glass cloths are extremely durable and can be laundered up to 800 times. the ones we use are 40x40x370gsm or 38x45x370gsm.
