Hi chaps & girls, was wonder what ro is it and membrane you need to fill a 100L IBC tank in around 2 hours with booster pump as I've got the 450GPD which would take around 2-3 days !!!

I would of thought you would need a twin 4040 membrane set-up with a decent booster pump.
Not sure if it could fill an IBC in 2 hours?
Might take a bit longer than that, but I suppose it's possible.

Cheers Andy, do you still use the same ro system and the X3 pre filters but just swap the X3 small 10" membranes ?

It's possible you could still use your 10" pre-filters and filter housings Danny.
But you might have to modify the inlet connections to accept 1/2" fittings if they don't already.
As all the 4040 set-ups I've seen use 1/2" diameter hose to deliver a decent water flow.
I've only started using a 4040 RO in the past few months and the one I use has one 10" Fibredyne pre-filter and one 4040 membrane.
I also use a Clarke booster pump and I estimate in warm temperature (summer time) my set-up produces about 150 ltrs of pure per hour.

My 40×40 RO producing around 200 lph, boosted by the pump RO man supplies.

Andy how does your booster take 1/2" hose as all my gear as 1/4"

So you just use a sediment & carbon filter 10" and X1 membrane. Does that membrane last around 5 years ?

I use a Clarke cbm240e booster pump with 1/2" hose connections.

I reckon the booster pump you currently use for your 450 gpd RO would not be suitable as it would not produce enough water flow.

Thanks for your help Andy mych appreciated. So you not use X2 filters as you say you use febredyn is that just the one 10" filter as normally people use a sediment filter before the booster pump to stop the crap going in the pump ??

At home I was getting around 150 to 200 ltrs p/h
Now I have set it up in the unit which seems to have a better supply ie 1" mains pipe then just a meter of copper pipe to the RO take off I'm getting 300 p/h
1/2 inch hoses should supply enough flow to a 4040 RO
Could you not change your fitting to a larger size?

Cheers Darren I'm looking into getting one as I've got the 450gpd with booster but takes ages to fill, with elecy prices going up my pumps going all night then most of day. I looked at metre going round with pump off it takes the count of 8 when pump on it takes the count of 4 so really need to change. Do you use just the one filter

No I use 2 filters the 20" style one sediment the other carbon

do you have to use copper pipe?
Also my hose is 1/2 inch.isit possible to get fittings to reduce from 1 inch?

Sorry, will clarify (hopefully)
The unit has a 1 inch mains supply with good pressure (compared to my house) from there the plumbing is standard household copper pipe to this I added a spur and washing machine tap, the thread here takes standard hosepipe connector then I use reinforced 1/2 inch hose to pump (approx 2 feet long - due to close access to mains and short straight pipe work I get a really good flow rate. ( when at house it only had a 3/4 mains inlet then had to travel 20 feet past several take offs and corners to reach the pump which led to a sluggish flow )
4040 RO systems are pretty straight forward to set up and well worth the investment for volume production in a quick time
