can u not fix it to the side of the van just by the rear door rather than the van door, that's what we did, we then mounted the heater onto batons, ran some heatshield insulation up the back of it and secured batons with to the appropriate sections of the inner skin to the van.

You will need "self tapping screws" long enough to go through the baton and the metal work you are screwing it to and to drill a "pilot" hole with a metal drill bit slightly smaller than the screw.

I bought X2 strips of metal straps with holes in from B&Q measure from the fat side edge of door to the other, cut strap drilled holes in the fat edging of back doors and you should have a bolt as back of shower which you can bolt onto metal straps. Use self tapping screws easy peasy !!!
-
i hang mine with a hook from a hole in the roof of the van near the door, so i can quickly take it in with the reals etc when it get o'er cold

Hi Ben yes normal ones you could put any screws in make sure you don't drill hole to big, better off drilling slightly smaller than screw so the screw goes in nice and tight.
