Sorry to hijack the post but does anyone have the go cardless button
on there website, I have and got my first couple of sign ups through
the site :D problem is I have only received the name and email of the
customers and as I haven't these details don't know who they are.
I have emailed them for address but don't want to do that every time,
also emailed go cardless to see if they can advice me.
any one encountered this problem?
Would recommend go cardless, not long been using them only 20 custy's
and counting but wish i could get every custy to sign up only 1% fee :o
No collecting one day hopefully ;D

Hi Paul, that's the exact problem if just come across whilst playing about with it. The only way I can see that this wont happen is by actually setting them up and requesting it your end.

Got another sign up through the website today :)
Just sent email to custy asking for address, didnt get a
reply to the email i sent to go cardless ???
Will phone them tomorrow will let you know what they
say.
No one else got button on website?
Any one else use them? whats your opinion of them?

I'd take it off the website mate, just send a details form out to all your customers getting their email address, then request them and put their address on the ref. section. Sorted, no more hassle

I use GoCardless and have a button on my website:
www.iconicwindowcleaning.co.uk/directdebit
I have all of my customers full names on Aworka so working out who's set up a direct debit using just their email address details isn't a problem. Although I think it would be a good idea for GoCardless to give you the first line of the customers address when they sign up.

we are the same as Andy, we have customers full names so we don't really encounter this problem with go cardless.

You say on your website that it's not a monthly direct debit. How does that work? I'm interested in using GoCardless myself but I lost myself in the masses of instructions and options and gave up in the end. One thing that I'm really keen to know is what do you do if you raise your prices? Are you allowed to increase the direct debit?
TIA

Craig,
You can set it up so that you can take a variable payment whenever you choose. This way works for us so that if we do the backs of a house that we wouldn't normally do we can collect for that. Also if we are a bit late cos of the weather we can request payment when we've cleaned. Perfect for us in my eyes!
If you do decide to go with it then use the referral code and you'll get 50 pound credit, that's what I done ;)
