Same heater as mine. Had mine two years now.
For that price I am going to get 1 as a spare!
-
Looks Like a bargain, keep toying with going hot, but, hmmm lol. 10 yrs without.
-
that heater runs on natural gas not propane, i have one and it wont really go much hotter than luke warm, i think i need an 8l one:-) having use this, the silver one that reach to clean use and the corwoods l5 ecotemp, i would reccomend the ecotemp, its £180 but corwoods are good to deal with and my heated lasted forever untill i let it freeze

Same as mine, runs on lpg and if you put on winter and turn the flow and heat numptys to max I can assure you the water is too hot to touch.
Keep on the summer setting and turn heat/flow settings down it is a great heater.
-
cool, so it will run on lpg even if is say natural gas ?
what pumps do you use and do you have a controller at all mate?
cheers
-
I don't think you are supposed to run it on LPG if it is designed for natural gas, one of the gasses requires a larger injector, and if you run it on the wrong gas then they could overheat due to too much as LPG burns hotter.
-
Dont know about that. When i brought mine i searched lpg water heater and that is one that it brought up. Tbh i didnt take any notice of the link i posted was ng. Just saw it was like mine and thought someone might get a good buy. Like i said mine is 2 years now and no probs.

Makes it a bargain then.
£60 for something that will do the same job as one that costs 3 times that!

Did you fit a flue?
And does it cut off after 20mins
-
It is a flueless one,so no flue. Just leave back door open.
It does cut out after 20 mins, never found this a problem though.

Oright mate how much does it cost roughly a week?
And i might order one then because i have a lwb primastar and a bulkhead in so the gases shouldnt be an issue
-
surely if it cuts out every 20 mins then your going to be doing a lot of trips back to the van to restart it?
-
How many jobs do you have of 20 mins constant running?
If is dead ended,ie turn the tap off,the boiler cuts out. Open the tap and it fires up again.
I have a 6kg bottle in mine,if using every day in winter it will last about a week. If you can get a bigger bottle in thats a better option.
-
So to restart the boiler all you do is switch your hose tap off then on again ie no trips to the van?
-
Thats right,it cant run constant for 20 mins. If it it is deadended that is the same as switching it off.
-
how much is a refill gas bottle mate?
-
Just been reading ad, looks pretty good. Was especially impressed by number 7 in the description of 'technical features',
"Magnificent thin shaped appearance, it is designed by modern fashionable line shape"!!!.
Not really sure what this means, or in what way it is technical?. But I would have to assume this is a direct translation from the (Chinese?) brochure?.

I think I stick to using a kettle

Good for you.
6kg lpg costs about £16-17 from go outdoors. Bigger bottles work out more cost effective in gas.
-
do you use a controller and which pump?
-
Sureflo pump and digi controller. The boiler wont fire up until flow rate on controller is 50+.
-
Ordered thanks ;D

£17 a week seems like a lot of dough to pull out
-
About 3 or 4 quid a day,not much if it helps keep you working when its colder.
Its not everybodys cup of tea,but it makes working more bareable for me when its chilly.
-
Tbf i would probly only use it on extremely cold days... Or on cold ish mornings run some hot to soften the pipes, and for conservatorys and facias so will be a great buy for me!! Thank you

i fill mine at the petrol station, it costs £15 to fill, 21 litres, and lasts 6 days supplying 2 reels

Have you got the safefill bottle Lee?
-
I like a few others bought one of ebay , about £95 .
It's did last years winter no problem for about 2/3 months . I've left it for 8 months and just put the Duracell batteries back in and it's fired up first time quality .
It cuts out every 20 mins but because I use the aqua adaptor or any other pole valve it doesn't cut out as I shut it off when closing the pole on and off.
Tremendous bit of kit
6 litre LPG
Similar to the picture on this thread , but about £90 now I think
-
just bought one!no idea how to fit it though! :(
if there is anyone in the manchester/cheshire area who could help me out with fitting it there would be a few drinks in it for them! ;) :)
i dont have ply lining but there must be another way of fitting it to side of van.

dazmond

The guys that have just bought one, did you big the one in the link by the OP? If so that is the wrong one , you need the LPG version not the natural has one.

Agree.
They didn't listen first time. Chances are they won't this time.
There is an interchangeability between propane and butane (just) but not LPG and natural gas. I wonder what regulator they are going to try to use.
-
I dont understand? I didnt know there was any difference, just saw the post and seen he used it for last 2 years? ???

You may already have the LPG version, but the link is fit the natural gas version. You cannot run a natural gas heater on LPG as it will run too hot.
Most of these heaters come as LPG or natural gas, you just need to make sure you buy the correct one.

did you buy the natural gas water heater Daz? if yes, it could be useful in your bathroom but not in your van ;) ;D ;D
-
Thanks god i didnt buy one.
I just want one no matter how much money, but i dont wanna drill a hole for a flue pipe if it can be helped. I have a nissan primastar with bulkhead in and i always work with the back doors open? Any ideas
-
This is the one you really want
Type this into ebay
300 767 314 267
Mines onto its 2nd year with some new Duracell batteries
Easy to mount onto your ply lining back door or inside van with a flu .
Easy to connect up
-
haha yes ben ordered the wrong one! :( ;D
its my own fault for ordering on a whim late last night.to be honest there has been posts about these heaters on the search button from the same seller.they look like cheap boilers from china but are nt most heaters made in china?
anyway sent email to see if i can change to the propane heater although if you read the second advert in the link it mentions propane at the top and further down says it runs on natural gas? ::)roll
entirely my fault for being a numpty!oh well its only £60 lost!
thinking of ordering a corwoods one now! ;D ;Dmore expensive but they look better made.ill get a local plumber to fit mine properly.gotta give hot water a go in the colder months.its the stiff hose that does my head in and not being able to scrub off ice on unheated porches/connies. ;D
have you got yours set up now ben?
-
Sorry type this in , they've changed it now as got popular
£115
eBay
1111 696 723 16

I don't use a hot water system and have no intention in buying one soon, but is it really worth the punt to save a few quid and buy from a chinese ebayer ?
I know they are probably all made there but I would sooner pay a little more and buy from a uk supplier, you'll have better communication and after sales if something wrong (plus piece of mind that its going to arrive anytime soon)
Most of you insist on the best lightest wfp from a certain reputable supplier and happy to pay for the privilege yet you are willing to scrimp on a gas boiler that you are going to self install in the back of your vans with no firm prior knowledge of how to do it ?
(judging by the amount of questions posted)
-
rob dont just go there!phone them up first as they have no heaters in the actual shop!lady said she will get back to me when she gets hold of one.also its 10% more expensive if you buy from the shop but i fancy the drive up there and have a look around as i need a few other bits and bobs as well. ;)

Yeah i totally agree buy the beat equiptment for everyday use, however i only want this for 2 weeks a year and mayby a few tough conservatory cleans! Apart from that i will stay cold.
I just dont want to spend £100ssss on a hot system incase i have problems, or its costing to much to run.

The second number I put in shows a heater .
Yes china - where do you think everything comes from , etc ?.??
Mine is now working into its 2nd year as is loads of other window cleaners I know .
Mine was slightly different to that on eBay now but at £90 it's been a great buy .
Work one day and it pays for itself.
If not you can buy others at £150 , £300 plus
Just thought I'd help that's all.

you have been a help to others on here, wasn't knocking it and fully aware they are all made in China :D
Its just when you have a problem like daz and have ordered the wrong heater on a whim ( ;D ) do you want to be putting your faith in a supplier in china or a uk importer of these ?
Had a look at corwoods site and sounds like they supply with hose and fittings needed already ( but could be wrong ) , ok a little more expensive but you are dealing with a uk firm and any problems they are only a phone call away. just my opinion ;)

Im all sorted with this heater business...but they think we're all right numpties on ebay hahaha.
Thanks to the OP for burning my money lol ... just kidding ;D

although i found the coorwoods heater, probably the longest lasting i have used, when they break they just break, it is normally due to you letting the thing frost up, or the gas regulator in the unit bunging up and not letting gas into the heater.
the ones from ebay are perfectly good from china, especially the silver ones, there really is no difference in build quality no matter what people say on here, i have been inside at least 6 different types.
when something goes wrong with these you cant normally fix it, so i dont really know the advantages of a uk supplier unless they would replace it if not frost damaged?
however at nearly double the price and a new chinese heater getting to me within 3 days i think i will save the £80, what i do is hang the heater by a hook and have everything in the van quick release so i can protect against frost damage, being pretty simple bbq type things not much else should go wrong (only had a gas regulator break on one once before).
this is not slating corwoods at all though as i have used them and there heaters and found them both to be excellent, this is just from a money saving point of view
-
hi rob i got an email today saying they had already sent it!(the natural gas one) and basically saying its too late to change.funny that as i think i sent an email to them before you! ::)roll
oh well i should be picking up my corwoods one tomorrow. :D ;D

wow 3 days ? !
I stand corrected,
I am sure the ones corwoods supply are probably also chinese and there is undoubtedly no difference in their quality or durability. I personally would just be sceptical of buying something like a boiler from so far away. I recently bought an item of clothing as a birthday present for my daughter from china, her birthday has been and gone and although ordered a full week earlier , was only sent an email confirmation of its dispatch the day after her birthday last weekend ! still waiting for its delivery.
-
Isn't there a Spanish version about somewhere - the name will come back to me eventually. :-\
-
El Heato!

For us numpties that ordered the WRONG heater ;D Here a link to the correct one, thankfully, they are sending me this , but £37 more.

Lol...to be fair the original poster was the numpty and we all followed suit lol
-
Guys,sorry, really was my bad.
However if you have ordered the right one can you not keep the ng one as spares? If is just the burner that is different it cant be that hard to change.
I would buy you a frothy one as compo but im just a poor old window cleaner. (and a tightarse!) ;)
-
Hi RAH , I'm into my 2nd winter with that one
Been great
AMERY 8 liter
