Always have a leak on the section that links reel to the hose (the tapered brass fitting)
I use quality jubilee clips from Gardiners, even double up,but I still get a leak >:(
I use about 8 inches of garden hose from the reel to the beginning of the microbore, and find that this often blows holes in it.
Is there anything else I can use to link the reel to the microbore apart from garden hose?

never had a problem ;D ;D ;D ;D
microbor should fit straight over the brass fitting if you got the right size barb.also use 'o' rights,as I found when using the jubilee clips they get move when you are winding in. ;D ;D ;D ;D
go on say it you love me :P

Crikey, what kind of pressure are you using!!!?? Do you use a controller?
Mine are held on with plastic tie wraps & don't leak!!

I reckon I got the wrong brass thingy because I struggle to fit garden hose on the barb,i wouldn't stand a chance in hell of fitting microbore straight on there.

Try turning the pressure down a bit!! ;D

if you look in side the bend there is a tread to screw in a barb ;)

which hose reel have you got? will fit any brass 3/4" threaded tap connector

I had a problem with
Mines a few years ago
I thought it was the fitting leaking but it
Turned out there was a tiny pin hole on the elbow
Nothing a bit of solder could fix but there was a lot
If head scratching at 1st

As frankybadboy has said there is an internal 1/8" screw thread on this brass elbow. If you screw one of these into the elbow - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/brass-male-screw-thread-to-hose-barb-fittings.html (1/8" male screw to 6mm barb) with a good bit of PTFE tape around the thread you can then fit the Microbore directly onto this brass fitting and attached with a Jubilee clip or an O clip.

Thanks Alex, will order a couple tomorrow

bit of advice don't over tighten the barb as it will crack the elbow bit ;)
and you wont know til it leaks
