I'm going to be scraping the moss off by hand (understand this will take a while) and spraying a fungicide on the roof afterwards, to help stop the moss coming back for a while. I have some access concerns/not sure how I would do certain bits.

So my questions are :
1. Trowel for scraping the moss off or is there some other tool I can use?
2. Any recommendations on what to spray on it after? (I was going to scrape off a side and then go back up there and spray with a backpack of fungicide.)
3. I only have standard window cleaning ladders, I was going to use these to get up just above gutter level, then hoist a roof ladder up there, best way?
4. Watched a few videos, please seem to be tethered to the roof ladder via a rope attatched to harness, surely if they fall back the ladders going with them?
5. One of my concerns was in the second pic, (you can only just see the top of it) but there is a fairly large conservatory in the way, so I wouldn't be able to get the ladders in to be able to move the roof ladders along for the last section of the roof, how would I do this?

I take it this would be your first roof clean?
Could be costly. You'll deffo break tiles, those break easy, even from a cat ladder. Rope equipment, day of a job for a pro.
Scraping it will still look shiite. It needs a good washing plus along with replacing tiles you'll more than likely need to repoint the ridges or ensure the owner or the property arranges for a qualified roofer to carry out the repairs.

Hi, yard broom the thick off. simple cat ladder/3 tier ladder, various lances to switch and whirlaway, good man on the ground (helping with pressure hose/switching lances etc) . cant get away from the fact that your going to put a lot of water on that roof during cleaning process, water will find its way in however carefull you are, so check custys roof has a membrane. if not have it in writing that water may enter during cleaning process, and get custie to sighn or walk away. clear it with neighbours on both sides that there will be some mess. and your team will leave all affected areas as new. also you may damage the roof during cleaning (infact expect too) let custie no any broken tiles/loose grout will need replacing on completion of cleaning @ further costs.
divent dee it for nowt, make good wages on it or farm it out.

For original post, we don't advertise the fact but we have done a few on customers request. I don't like it personally as results are limited. scraping u can use wire brush attached to telescopic pole, cover a larger area save moving so much. If you are only using roof lad how are you going to scrape / access hip roofs ?

Why do it that way? Just use Hypo 50/50 but I don't sell it ;D ;D ;D

About 5 years ago I bought two T3's and a Scater 5 with the Vac take off. Even though the T3's were 300bar they would never ran that Scater properley. I ended up flogging it which I now regret In my opinion you definately need a T5 or equivalent to run that big Scater.
Just been offered a T5 for £16K + VAT what do you think?

We've got 2 T3's now. Bought the second one a couple of weeks ago from an auction, it's in mint condition and came with a scater(£2k), 2x 30m hoses(£440 each), trigger, lances, hose reel and a tool box with fittings all estimated at £350 worth. Gave £4k for it.
Ran the scater with 2 machines supplying a little more flow. Can't determine how much the venturi jet uses per min but yeh know what you mean from just 21lpm.

That was a bargain of a Lifetime I sold my T3's for £6750 each and the T2 for £5500 both +VAT without any extras. With regards to the Scater 5 I tried everything it ran and cleaned but it almost felt as if it was like a car with a restricter on it if you know what I mean. I deffo think you need at least 28lpm to run it! What do you think to the price of the T5? I think it's cheap it's just that I havce spent a mint recently moving and I want a new 1 metre Grinding Machine as well! Is it worth calling Hydroblast and asking them what it's worth do you think?

I got 54 ltrs /min @ 4000 psi - it weighs 1.2 tonne dry and that makes my van feel like its got a restrictor as well ;D
