Was cleaning a mates house today, but have to go in next door neighbours garden to clean the skylites and one of the bedroom windows.
Knocked on next door neighbours to see if it was ok, no answer so I just carried on. Wasn't a gate so just walked in.
Anyway was cracking on this old woman comes out, asks what I'm doing. I said sorry sweetheart I knocked your door twice but was no answer, I'm just cleaning these windows is that ok?? She said well f@cking knock louder next time I said no worries, she went and I carried on.
Then I started to laugh. She come out f-in and blinding how dare you get out of my garden I'm going to murder you, I said that's a bit extreme isn't it. Packed my pole up and went while she's screaming at me.
What a day.
On a plus side one of my customers bought me back a jar of Italian coffee and a light with the pope on from Italy.
Every cloud...........

There's a law that states that if your working on someone else's property, you can go on someone else's property to work on that house.
I wasn't in the mood to explain that today

Its the party wall act and you need to give 14 days notice.

Cant blame her in one way, if i saw someone in my garden working away i think id have a few strong words to say as well, dont care about laws or not

Its the party wall act and you need to give 14 days notice.
There is the Access to Neighbouring Land Act 1992 which generally only allows access for repairs and only then with an order from the court granting entry:
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1992/23/contents
The Party Wall Act is only for use in relation to works in respect of a wall:
https://www.gov.uk/party-wall-etc-act-1996-guidance
Neither give a right of access to clean windows so best just tip yer hat and get begging - or face the wrath of the neighbours ;D
Cheers, Tom
