Title: ro question.
Post by: windiewasher on October 11, 2013, 04:12:47 pm
I have a twin pumped 400 gpd ro from vyair but wondering can you upgrade the ro to more gpd perday?

I think 300 gpd membranes (x2 giving 600 gpd) will fit in the housings, but I don't know if output would be affected by the restrictor on the outlet.
I was considering upgrading the 400 gpd Vyair ro I had, but decided not to bother and bought a 4040 instead.

Is there anyway of using 4040 with the filters and pumps with the vyair ro.

You could try contacting Vyair as they stock 4040 components and might be able to give you advice.
I can't see why the filter housings can't still be used, although they might need to be modified to accept 1/2" hose instead of the 3/8" hose they currently use.
A 4040 demands a good water flow so 1/2" hose is usually required.
I don't reckon the booster pump you currently have will give a good enough flow rate.
