Title: Airflex pro
Post by: M W. on October 03, 2013, 09:59:24 pm
recently purchased an airflex pro. has anyone experienced our problem with this model. the waste tank dome had started to weaken and eventually split/cracked around the waste inlet, bought a new one, but with this m/c being relatively new to us, concerned that this is the achilles heel of airflex pro m/c,s

I have had two Airflex's a Pro and a Storm both brought from new, I had the Pro for just over 12 months, no problems and i have had the Storm for around 19 months, again no problems.  Always make sure the dome is seated correctly before using as i should imagine that if it is not in its correct position then it make put it under an increased strain and therefore damage.

i was picking my machine up other day from Dry fusion and while i was there a guy local to me dropped off an Airflex for a new pump and i could see the waste tank dome you mentioned was covered in what i would say is resin it looked a mess, so i presume they have had the same problem and fixed it this way.

Hi thanks. the dome (waste tank lid) stood out to me straight away as a delicate component with the airflex m/c. nevertheless it came my way @ the right money, performs well, and wanting to move away from extracta anyway, giving airflex a go. but if these domes go every 3mths , then will off load and move on.

As long as you treat it right you will not have any problems, the Airflex is a well built machine and quite a few on here have one and i have not heard of anyone having problems with dome before.

I have the Storm which will put the dome under much more strain than the pro and it is exactly the same dome for both as i have owned both, as i say not had a problem on either of the machines and now had the Storm for over a year and  half.

spot on for customer service....  and for that reason my next machine will be a storm.....  cannot wait.....  just need to clean enough carpets to pay for it!  question is, do i sell my very well looked after pro, or keep it as a back up machine......??????

Tim, keep it for a back up, although mine has never failed yet, I'm sure there will be a day when a vac motor goes or something more serious.  Depending on what model Pro you have it might be quite a bit lighter than the Storm and might be easier to clean flats with. That being said in August i cleaned around 8 flats all on the second floor and i managed to lift my Storm up the stairs. :)

keep it, always have a stand by m/c in the event of a vac/pump etc going. and as the saying goes IT ISN,T EATING ANY MEAT.. ;)
