does that pump have to be run with the gearbox?

Yep
-
Any pumps out there that are direct drive. Pros.n cons of these if possible
-
Pro's of the direct drive are they don't need a gearbox.
-
Direct drive pumps are lighter but wear out parts twice as quick
-
at present it may have to be a direct drive due to cost

If you are going to build a machine invest the extra £150 in the gearbox. The pumps are the same price. What engine are you useing?

my machine at present is a loncin (don't laugh) it has served me well for over 5 years. it is 13hp and is a copy of the gx390 honda. I don't do a lot of pressure washing. My main line of work is window cleaning. I do have some contract work for doing one job per month with a large firm which pays pretty well. eventually i will buy new engine or washer complete when needed.
