The vacuum body is the same but the brush head part has been redesigned and is a little more rounded in appearance.

The comfort also has 4 wheels instead of 3 making it easier to push.

I tend to use Vicol for Sebo stuff. Hard to beat on service and keen on price: -

Vacuspares also good but delivery a bit slower.

There's a guy in Staffordshire refurbs and sells for about £75, worth considering. He sells on ebay so just search BS36 and location Staffordshire (Wheaton Aston).

the cheaper prices you see advertised are usually sold without accessories,
so best to compare all/

Gone off the BS36, Started to use the X4 sebo,
find the BS36 to have too much slack where it joins the foot, and leads to connection problems, typical of gear being made cheap these days   >:(

I have had to replace my last 2 BS36 's for exactly that reason - too much moving between the foot and body leading to power cutting out to brush as you pull it backwards. Only works when the suction pipe is pushed in at an angle.
It also tends to fall over backwards easily.

used to use sebos but now converted to Kirby' s. Far better made machine and a lot more robust, plus do not have the blockage problems etc etc.

What does BS stand for?

Russ

In Vacuum cleaners it means at best guess "Bürst staubsauger"  Which in English is Brush Vacuum Cleaner!  This is a best guess.  The 36 means the head width 36mm

I've got two Kirby diamonds for sale , in mint condition, just been serviced with spare belts and bags. £125 each. The Kirby diamond is the one with the twin speed setting so its good for the thinner type rugs.

I am but the new stock will not be this price!  I'm not bothered mate whether you buy one just trying to offer you an alternative! Paul Moss is flogging a couple of Kirby's for £125 each!  Everyone seems to rate those on here!  I cannot offer any advice either because I have never cleaned a carpet!

Go for the BS36 Derek, Kirbys are great but your customers will think you bought a machine from the 1970s.  ;D

Does anybody use the red brush strip in the sebo???any thoughts
Title: Re: cheapest bs36
Post by: Craigp on October 09, 2013, 10:03:03 pm
Kevin yes definitely use the stiffer red brushes,

Heres a tip I only just discovered, the end of the bristles go black with like an oily crap after a while, this stops the brushes working as effective, get a rag and pour some white spirt on and clean the black stuff off the bristles.

Also change the bags earlier, at half to 3/4 full to keep suction good, alway cut hair with sisscors to clear brushes and check for blockages.

The BS36 is a fantastic vacuum.

"wouldn't have a kirby craig. customers know them to well"

Derek

They know them too well for a good reason........they may look old fashioned but, dare I say it, they are probably the best of the bunch for power, reliability, servicing and most of all they are nearly impossible to break......no plastic bits sticking out.
You can actually see the carpet lifting slightly on some jobs and there is plenty of weight in the machine bearing down on the beater bar.
