Hi peeps currently not on a meter but looking at moving to a house that has one.
been told a 1000 litres is £1.53, doesnt sound a lot but im sure it would add up,
 using a 400 ltr but getting a 500ltr soon,
would anyone mind telling me if there on a meter what sort of bill to expect and also is there a more
efficent R/O filter for less waste when filling up. Thank you
 Tom.

£1.53 + drainage charge which will be a similar cost. I think put a meter on your outside tap and get a refund on your drainage fee as your not actually putting that water down the drain because its going in the tank
-
Ahh very good point but the house isnt on mains drainage so luckly wont have to pay that.
would soon start to sting the bank if i did.

£25 a week for me. Using ro and including household usage. Buy yourself a meter so you can measure your business usage for your tax return.

That is ridiculous, 6 months £50.00. Sub meter fitted and none return to sewer allowance. Get it sorted Wayne

ring me if you need to, and I will tell you how to do it.

Could you explain in a bit more detail please.

 Ro? 40/40? Sub meter?

 Cheers.

Sub meter registers your water to your van, none return to sewer is the cheapest water rate but you have to apply to the water company.
I  also have a recovery system fitted called a ro-back from ionics.
As you are not returning any waste water back to the sewer you're charged at the lower rate.
So when my meter is read and I receive my bill, I then read my meter and give them my sub meter reading and the bill is then adjusted.
My readings are taken on the 21st of June and the 21st December, I do take regular readings from both meters as requested by southern water.
They will come and inspect your set up and to see if you have fitted a sealed meter and then your in business.

Thats a great help thank you.

I am not on a water meter but looking at moving so odds on it will have a meter.

£100 a month is not a lot on water because of what you can earn. But £50 sounds a lot better.
-
Thanks for this post I'm hoping to move too and ill be looking back at this !

That's including my household use. Didn't think £80 was that bad to be honest.
So you pay £50 a month Steve? Is that inc household? How much water do you use?
-
80 pounds a month sounds a chuffing lot, That would wind the wife right up lol :D
def got me thinking more about it tho, hopefully if i can get it at 50 or under a month il be happier.

I think its £50 for 6 months guys not a month
-
				NO £50.00 per six months.

-
				£50 for six months  ???
I was paying over £40 a month before they even put meter in.
Why is it so cheap, you would surely use more than £8 a month just for baths/washing machine etc

No that is what the business uses, the house is much much more, you must remember your house is charged at 98% return to sewer.
-
I Think it works out at £1.16 per cubic meter then at none return to sewer 80p.

not a massive overhead really compared to what 1000 litres brings in pound notes wise
-
how do u get away with saying your not having anything go down the sewer when the ro waste water does ?

Vast majority of my waste doesn't go down the sewer.
Most of it goes on the garden.
-
so i would have to show the water board that i have a irrigation setup to do this ?

-
No, I haven't really got an irrigation set up.
Just my waste on a length of hose that reaches the front and back garden.
 Attached to a garden sprinkler.
Then move the sprinkler about so it gets all of the grass.
I usually fill up at night so garden gets watered at night.
Pack it away before I go to work.
 It's all on a sub-meter.
I just record the figures and send them off.
Never had any issues so far (3 1/2 years at this house)
-
				hiya
where did you get your sub meter from do you have any links please.

-
My waste goes in a recovery system.

stephen whats a water recovery ?
-
surely the waste water from the r/o is going back down the drain.

Ours goes down the same outside drain the roof gutter down pipe uses. Its the sewage drain.
-
Thats what mine does at present spruce
