hi all i have a clarke cbn 240 booster pump should it run continuously or should it stop the start as it cuts out when filling my tank thanks andy

Should run continuously unless it has a pressure swith

hi ian turn my water on start my pump runs for 30 mins or thanks andy more then just stops and 5 minutes later just starts again thanks andy

The unit will switch on @ 1.6 bar and off @ 4.8 bar, so it sounds like it has hit the higher limit and switched off. Then it kicks in when the pressure drops below 1.6 bar.

I think one is a continuous use pump and the other is an "on demand" pump, which only kicks in when the pressure drops below a certain level (We made the same mistake !)

I've got the Clarke CBM240E booster pump and it does not suffer from this problem.
I think if I was in your position andyralph I would phone MachineMart's Technical Department and ask them if this is normal?
If you needed to you can buy the separate electronic control unit for your pump which will make it the same as a CBM240E:  http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/epc1000-electronic-control-unit?da=1&TC=RV-051021250
