Title: white stains on formica type counter top

This is in a mens toilet counter around the hand basin thought it was limescale at first.
Could also be a chemical burn. I have seen this in the past. Any Body have experience with this?

Are you sure it is Formica.  Sounds like an Acid Etch Mark to me
