Title: Canvassing - had to laugh

Done a few hours tonight and got nowt but no after no or got 1 however had 1 "lady" ask if we used ladders or that pole pure water thingy said yup water fed pole - dont want that ##1 te and slammed door  ;D

another 1 who didnt answer when i knocked so put a leaflet thru door chased me down the road with my leaflet shouting here take this back your too dear my window cleaner does it for £6 (£12 to £14 house)  ;D ;D

I got a ticking off aswell on Saturday, didn't notice the No Canvassers sign by the door  ;D

Simple.  If there's a 'no canvassers' sign, knock anyway.  Wait till they open the door then apologise, say 'I'm sorry, I didn't notice the sign till after I  knocked, and it would have been rude to walk away without explaining.'

Works every time ;)

Whenever they point to there no cold caller sign or mention it i just tell them im hot and didnt think it applied which usualy makes them laugh and sometimes even clinching the deal.

I love these signs and some people really go banannas, I was in a no calling zone in Portchester 1 time and this guy was a little over zealous about it and probably the guy who forced whole street into it. He had a black and white sign, normal sized, then had it blown up to A4 size with a black and blue no cold calling sign on door which Id never even seen before.

Right so the door opens, and at this stage I am just waiting for the barrage of have you seen my sign, which he did right on que. I went into my normal defence all it is sir is we have had a massive response on this road and didnt want to miss you out. Now if they kick off again and some will, do this look them straight in the eye, very dead pan, calm and say most normal people dont mind
