Hey Chaps
Any of you uses/using facebook "Offer, Event" to promote your carpet services, and if so what type of return do you get?
Thanks

Not heard of it but i have had a couple of jobs of facebook recently by advertising for free on local items for sale groups, just type in your local town etc and items for sale, most towns and cities will have one and some more than others.
-
I am finding that if you want to work for less than it costs you to get there and do the job, then it works.
Just cheapskates on there, well what I have found, all the jobs I had booked or inquired, either cancelled or didn't bother booking

I changed my Page to a LIKE page wish I Never, not had any work from FB for a few weeks now! as where before id get one or two Emails a week about work!
Here is my take on FB + Google
FB = The local papers in 2003 lots of calls but cheaper end of the market!
Google = Yellow pages if you PPC
says it all really, or put it this way, people go looking for your service on Google so its a Higher ticket !!
Unless you got a PRODUCT to SELL on FB it isn't much use for Services! You could try sell SPOTTERS on FB to get Customers but again its lower ticket and not worth the hassle.
But am sure someome will come on and say They do great off a LIKE page and some have, but its not my market!
Only 20% or marketing brings in Real results, my marketing spend is only £100 per mth!
And dont ask what it is on !!! :P

this type of advertising is like someone coming up to you at a family party and selling to you. it does not work unless its playful and entertaining.

The take away is that social is facebook and google is search so from a marketing point of view thats people looking for your services its google.
just some really important news is that google will be soon not giving you the search term in your sites stats, its bad news for SEO, so you not going to know what keywords to target or what's working. My view is this is just a temp measure and has to do with building confidence with its users and all that spooks stuff that's going on.
