I just leave a card saying theyve been cleaned and please pay within 7 days.
Only write the ammount if they owe more than the normal monthly clean.
I like my customers to remember their own price.

Thankyou so the overwhelming response to my poll.

As many on this forum know I am a British born  that grew up is a ex colony of the U K. And therefore do not always understand the correct way to run my window cleaning business in our U K as my values do not naturally match the U K cultural .So many of my crazy questions are only an attempt to understand things in my day to day workings
I would be happy if it could be understood were I am coming from at times.

Smithie, so far this has been read by around 60 people since it was started. The poor response could have something to do with many of us not understanding what you're asking. Look at the answer options you've given.

I'm trying to help here mate, I think you need to read and re-read what you post before hitting the send button. Only one of the answer options is anything like what I do, I leave a sticker on the door telling them I've called and cleaned.

HTH

By the way mate, nobody really gives a toss where we come from or live when deciding whether to answer what we post. For example, I'm British, living in Germany. I only get aggro because I support Liverpool.  ;D

I have a business card, on the rear is a section that says. " we cleaned on xx/xx/xx. Your bill of £xx is now due. please visit website to see how you can make payment..

this gets popped through the door when the customer isn't in.

I use any method that the customer is happy with.

For some it's an SAE with the details on it, for others it a text message with bank account details, others just pay how ever much owed when they see me and a few leave the money hidden in the garden.

Smithie - I'm not quite sure what you mean by that but because I'm paranoid and as a precaution, I've stuck a bit of tape over the webcam on my laptop.

No mate. Rossie I am talking about collecting the cash in the garden. I would be looking around in case some one had an eye on me. It could be lucrative ;D ;D ;D

Oh...... now I understand.

I'd never considered that someone may be watching although most of the places that tend to do that are off the beaten track.

There's one monthly job where I do the windows in the same week as a gardener and the bloke who cleans the ladies car. If I do her windows on a Monday, usually under the matt outside the back door is 3 envelopes. I'd never given it much of a thought, untill now.
