Title: Which Tools
Post by: Matt Steele on September 21, 2013, 12:20:57 pm
Hi All am getting on famously with my Storm after a few teething glitches, as a rule i run the water pressure at 300 to 400 Psi, i'm still using my standard prochem hand tool on edges and stairs, but at this pressure it's giving my wrist a proper rsi, can anyone suggest a better/ more effective tool ?
Cheers in advance  :)

Hi Matt

I have the Storm and 300 - 400 psi for stairs is to high, first turn it down a bit to around 250 that should be more than adequate.  As for hand tools, personally i use a stair tool 6" inch, a bit cumbersome but once you get use to it makes it a lot quicker, you might want to get a whip hose (short length of 1 1/2 hose) to make it easier to use on the stairs.  What are you going to use on upholstery?  I would recommend a Sapphire hand tool, expensive but worth it.  Both available from Cleansmart or other suppliers.

at 400psi you must go through a lot of water?

200 - 250 max on carpets. stairs 120psi.

I also have a Storm

I use the cfr small hand tool on upholstery @ 200 psi no problems, i think it's down to the nozzle on the prochem tool as i'm not getting through as much water as you'd think at those pressures

High pressure doesn't always equate to more flow.
