Title: how many houses at once?
Post by: mike1986 on September 18, 2013, 08:29:32 am
How many houses can you reach from your van with 100 metre hose? For example 3 bed semi's next door to each other?

On a very compact round, would a trolley system like the 50ltr by pure freedom be better suited for domestics?

Rather than having to move the van every 20mins?

Thanks  :)

Probably three or four houses depending if the houses are pre war or 1960's box types. I reckon you'd soon get hacked off refilling your trolley from the van, especially if you've gotta rinse a lot. Vans gotta be easier.

8 is my best run without moving the van
All 3 bedders but in a square with a car park in
The middle

But I've often thought about getting one of the
125L omni trolley for some of my work
As I've got to move me van at every house
On the stree due to hedges and trying not
To destroy nice flower beds etc

I've got an area where I do 22 without moving the van.
Quite a few are terraces along with about 8 modern 3 bedders.

I dont really have a compact round and have used both van & trolleys.

Van deffo quicker.

Hose bolted in van and pole in some downpipe. Leave the pole & hose connected and when u get to customer just slide pole out van and walk to glass trailing hose behind you.

As my round isnt compact ive set my van up to be really quick unloading so i can be cleaning glass within 1 min of arriving

10 without thinking about it. I personally think that it's almost always easier to pull out a little more hose than move the van, but you do get to the point where excess hose eventually slows you down.  I have a friend who has 2 reels of 200 meters, so him and his son can almost be half a kilometer away from each other, thats a lot of houses.

Simon.
