Title: bona products
Post by: Graeme Smith on September 12, 2013, 04:48:50 pm
Someone remind which Bona products can be used on quarry tiles there is one which is a nitric acid?? with a buffered ph that is an alternative to alkalines. I've got some ancient quarry tiles in staff changing rooms in a hotel that need sorting so was going to do two patches - one in acidic cleaner and one in a high alkaline they are stained some under urinals sound grim.

Will answer that but don't forget to use honing powder with the High Alkaline

Bona Pro 1 is a penetrating anti slip cleaner for porcelains and ceramics.

Bona Pro 2 is hydrochloric and surfactant blend for gross contamination

Bona Pro 3 is the one that has Nitric in it for heavy salt build up.

We use 2 most of the time unless its wet change areas when we use 1. We have quite soft water up here so 3 doesn't get to play all that often unless its a hydrotherapy pool with added health salts.

These are VERY agressive products for professional renovation use only and as such aren't available online. Call me if you would like to discuss or order on 01334656787 or jamie@cleaningsystemsuk.com

As Kevin says sometimes a high alkaline boosted with honing powder may be all that's required. Honing powder can also be used with the Pro 2 & 3 should it be required.

Pro 2 should work on the urinal stains. I will post some pics when in front of a computer (iPhone just now) to let you see a recent project doing just what you describe.

If those grout joints were sealed afterwards it would help big style with future maintenance.  In fact I would seal the whole floor with Aqua Mix Ultra Solve

They were sealed. That's it drying in the last pic.

Jamie the products I bought off you should arrive today - going to do a test patch on Tuesday/Wednesday so we'll see what happens. What are the typical dilution rates for Bona 2 & 3?.

Anything from neat to 1:5 depending on how much contact time you require and the amount of contamination.

I usually wet the floor then apply it neat from a watering can with a fine rose for heavy contamination.

Tried it now the products were pants - cheapo high alkaline was better glad I spent nearly £100.00 including VAT and delivery (not) >:(

Strange. I haven't had a tile floor they haven't performed on.

Had you see the floor before ordering?

If you return them I will credit you.

Took them to do a test patch - the job is on for tomorrow so I'll leave them on for longer and see if that improves things + increase the concentration to 50/50
