Title: picking up a fair bit of new work lately
Post by: dazmond on September 09, 2013, 11:37:55 pm
just in the last few weeks ive picked up 12 jobs by recommendation alone.varying from £12 3-storey townhouses, flats, stand alones and conny roof and fascia cleans.

most of them im leaving until i get back from holiday as im stacked out this week before a 2 week break.

how are you guys doing?

this job is just so self generating!without any real need for canvassing! :D

loving it again at the moment!....but i do need a break from it!!

best wishes to you all

Three story town house for 12 quid, you must be joking. You would not get a windy for 12 quid 3 story down this neck of the woods,

Daz has a very good business where he makes a very good wage.his round is compact and if he thinks 12 quid for a 3 story house is good.good for him.
Keep it up daz.

ill take a pic of the townhouses in question next time im round.these are new builds! 4 small windows at front(including the 3 storey one)4 at the back and a tiny upper side window.the only 3 storey window is at the front of the property.

these are VERY easy to clean.get a good run of them and you ll clean 4 or 5 an hour.thats £48-£60 per hour.

that is good money in my book.dont forget a live in the north west.i guess you live down south eh smithie?

i dont have to justify my prices to anyone!i have some work where i charge as little as £3 for front only! ;D ;D

dannymack do you need any help?feel free to post and ill try and help if i can? :)

£12 sounds ok to me if compact, I had a row of 4 once, no fences on front or back use to take minutes. As it was South London I used to charge £14 each. Lovely jubbly.

I live on the Kent coast near Margate, used to commute up twice a month to do my London work but knocked that on a head after a few years and sold it.

windiewasher keep plugging away mate! ;) :)

the hardest part of this job is getting good solid work in the first place.once you have a good chunk of reliable customers it becomes self generating IF you keep your side of the bargain.

always clean frames, sills and doors as well as glass every time.

be polite with customers even if they seem a pain in the bum!try and rectify any misunderstandings/problems.if their being unreasonable just walk away but without losing your cool.

be reliable.if your gonna be late due to holidays etc let them know.offer conny roof, fascia and solar panel cleaning but book them in next time you clean their windows and dont price them too cheaply.

once your well established you ll find work will come to you and these customers usually turn into long standing customers(not always though!)but 9 times out of 10.

cheers ben!looking forward to holiday.my girlfriend and the girls are getting excited now! :D :D ;D

best wishes to you all

End of the day its about stick rate also bet his £12 are monthlys over here my town houses are £20 but 2 monthly also I need to charge minimum £45 on first cleans to make sure they ain't one offs . And some times they still prefer to pay £45 then get the next one less then half price in 2 months I would swap it all for £12 monthly happy easy going people who understand what window cleaning is about, expanding in this way for me doesn't work its quizzing and mind games I would love to charge 12 quid rather then the going rate but I know if I did it would be the same, but I'm pleased u r doing well have a nice holiday. !m8ty

Yea it's true sometimes people need to see the bigger picture its not about price I would honestly love to clean townhouses for £12 if I knew they wouldn't be so much hard work its all about the stick rate as long as you ain't charging stupid money I used to charge £3.50-£7a house and £5 bay fronts but the people couldn't live without me it was more fun back then IMO

I can't see anything wrong with dazmonds pricing, I do many of those 3 story town houses with garage at the bottom also for £12 if all round or £10if just the front and make some of my best hourly rates on them due to how easy access is and how many I have together.
He isn't talking double fronted big town houses he is talking new build easy town houses by the sounds of it unless I'm wrong and he should be doubling that £12 but from what I have read £12 is spot on.

Oh it's just the new easy ones? £12 on a monthly is perfect £16 2 monthly
