Title: Another heater thread
Post by: DaveG on September 09, 2013, 07:49:16 pm
Thinking ahead...

I've had an L5 heater for the last 2 winters and it's been ok and I've always run it on butane  (blue bottles).

Can they be run on propane, without modification (other than changing regulator)?

I leave the gas bottle in van overnight and seem to remember reading somewhere that  butane  doesn't operate as well as propane in sub zero temps?

Cheers

Not sure if it makes any difference in running, but like you say propane is better in winter. Just ryn it on that.

Yes.
I've had mine for a couple of weeks now, it came with a propane regulator.
Really really impressed with the heater tbh

I used butane in the start and in the worst cold day it would not work not knowing about butane freezing .I thought the heater was stuffed. A change to methane will be a big improvement it was for me.
