Title: do you increase your prices every year?
Post by: Rosemary Bolton on September 07, 2013, 08:16:51 pm
I started a contract cleaning firm last April and have had some contracts for over 1 year Do you think it is cheeky to ask people who have a contract for over a year for a 0,5% price rise in line with inflation? I think its fair but am scared of annoying customers

I would discreetly find out if that customer had themselves increased their prices - if they have then it would be possible to ask and justify it but if not then - well maybe

we increased our office cleans via 10% this yr for some of our customers first increase for 3 yrs, the rates are now fixed for 18 months, all agreed. I suppose it's really down to what profits your making and if you can afford to lose clients, personally I wouldn't bother increasing by such a small margin, but obviously depends onthe number of your customers ;) We are moving out of this market in retrospect it may of been worth while adding a clause in the contracts including yearly review / increases.
May be something u could look at for future customers?
