sorry i couldn't find an email address for you.
i'm struggling with room in the back of the van
so do you reckon the hose reel would work ok if it was horizontal, where yours is vertical?  i know that means the hose would be reeling back at an angle, but with the rollers would it do?
cheers

If I understand you right you want to copy his idea of having a fixed hose reel in the back of the van. I don't see turning the hose reel on it's side making life easier as reeling in the hose would be a problem with angles.

There is a window cleaner who fitted hose reels to the roof of his van (upside down.) He didn't use rollers like Tim does, but I don't see why you couldn't do that.

This video will give you the idea even although it isn't of good quality.

thanks for that mate, its a thought. i know having the reel sideways wont be easier but i have a berlingo first & 350 flat tank so there's not much room left , reel should arrive this week so i'll have more idea about room, i may have to buy a 400 upright tank , but i need another hole drilling in it & a bulk head fitting so i can have a hose for my backpack & thats gonna be awkward

If I understand you right, I don't think it would work very well with the hose coming in at an angle, even with a secondary roller guide guiding the hose in.

I have my hose real hanging fro the ceiling/roof of my van inside the side door. I have an up right tank and need space for gutter vac, back pak, gas bottle and pressure washer all in a connect.Another option is mounting it in the inside back door near the top.
