Isn't windows 8 more aimed towards touch screen applications? I have it on my computor but tend to just click the desktop icon and use the windows 7  page

Stick with what you have as long as you can or get a mac.

Windows 8 IS Windows 7 with a frilly skirt on! Makes no difference although 7 is better without the skirt!!!

As Glynn says OS X is light years ahead and Mavericks will be miles ahead of that in October.  ;)

Windows is worth the jump. we just put a mobile version of our site that looks like windows 8 and it works well. you need to buy dummies guide for basics, its all changing again as 8.1 is coming within weeks.

windows came in for a lot of slack because the removed the start button. but t will be back in 8.1

we dont use the touch layer and go into the old desktop which is different but once you get the basics its easy. like most stuff its got a learning curve but worth the effort.

here is our mobile, best viewed on phone. we have sniffer code on all sites now that diverts all mobiles to this site. still work in progress.

My advise wait until 8.1

Being old fashioned just got a new laptop with windows 8

Now seeing if I can get cash back so i can put it towards a tablet

Not sure about it yet like the touch screen etc,

I presume you do not get a free upgrade to 8.1 as it obviously work in progress

There are a number of free utilities that let you run windows on a mac. If Cleanersmate is the only bit of decent s/w you have still go with a mac or put OS X on a PC and dual boot.

Get a mac, I bought a laptop with windows about 4 month ago to run a program for the business as it wasn't available on the mac and I've barely touched it, I always find myself going back to the mac and doing the complicated way but its just easier and quicker just not as efficient. I have made a promise to myself that before Xmas I will use this program for work on the windows laptop, we will see!!!
