I cleaned a kitchen Amtico floor in early July.
I dont do loads of Amtico/Karndean, but I have done many in my time without a hitch.
I just had a call from the lady to say that the floor is weeping in a few areas. So I have just been round and it is weeping from some of the gaps between the tiles. I got a bit of warm water and brush and scrubbed gently to remove the dried on residue. But if I push hardish on areas near to it, a bubble of gunge comes up. The affected area is a few feet away from a dishwasher, which is next to the sink, but the rest of the floor seems fine.
Could it be that either the dishwasher or sink is leaking a bit under the floor?
I have left a blower, blowing cold air onto it, but not sure if this will help.
Any advice welcomed...
Tnx

Yep looks like she has a leak. The water will be getting into the floor beneath the vinyl. Tell her to contact her insurance company. This needs sorting properly sooner rather than later.

I used to work for amtico and I can tell you that if fitted correctly then there won't be any issues so yes looks like she has a leek

I'd be looking at where the water is coming from first.
Take a look behind the dishwasher & under the sink and any associated pipework & joints as its likely that this is the source. Don't know about hard floors but if you've treated a whole floor and this is only apparant in one corner its probably not down to you - especially after this amount of time.
An airmover isn't going to help much as most water is under a non-permeable layer.
If you want to get into drying the building, sanitising etc thats one thing. Otherwise I'd be inclined to leave well alone.

Thanks for your help guys. I hope your right that she has a leak.
I hope it wasn't me as the rest of the flooring in the kitchen into the utility room is fine.
Should she get onto a plumber first??
Ill go around tomorrow and tell her, and grab me blower back...
Tnx

one of the Most common insurance claims slow leaks off dishwashers and washing machines. Stop the leak (paid for by policy holder) then water damage contractor in - rip floor out and get dryers in and put a peg on your nose when the floor comes up its gonna hum. There is usually a compulsory excess of 250.00 on escape of water as well as the excess she has got on the policy as standard. Did lots of these when with SM.
