Beast of a machine but I have been told very difficult to get spares for the machine.
-
Does look tasty, especially at the right price.
-
Having Googled it though, there do appear to be people out there with issues of reliability, plus would it be easy to find someone who could work on it?
I agree though Wynne - it's not a bad van either.

People go on about the spares problem but as long as there is an America you will be able to get spares - not necessarily cheaply but you will be able to get them or close substututes - it is an engine, a blower, a pump (cat 5cp) and hxers - this is the chemspec equivalent of the prochem performer with the 46 hp watercooled nissan engine - maybe they copied prochem in using this motor I dont know but it is a reliable unit - if it comes with a 5 series blower then it will be awesome power even at tickover - at the price it is an absolute bargain if its all straight and for someone with a bit of gumption you should be able to do at least 200 a day with a mchine/setup like this - go do the sums...

Youd be mad to buy this or any secondhand TM without a knowledge of TMs and/or a local (ideally within driving distance) supplier.
TMs are like supercars. When they work they are amazing but when they dont youll be pulling your hair out.
And they will break.

These were made by Rick Aranda, Ace Truckmounts, made for Chemspec not by them.
When ever I saw them working they were "ok" to me but really lacking in heat.
Not something I would buy though.

Why, Glynn? Is it just the lack of heat? What heat exchangers do they have? Do they dump water (or maybe they don't get hot enough for that).

Owen If you are serious about getting a truckmount(this one or any other) have a word with MPMS Mark Powell Mechanical Services near Witney who service Hydramaster kit as they sorted my Steamway for me when i had it.Also i think there is a top place called something like Gpc in Gloucester who could cover all requirements(i went out there to collect some kit from Billy and was impressed with the setup).Regards Alan(swindon)

Yes, gp cleaners Gloucester, give them a call, ask to speak with Ian, top bloke, they recondition truckmounts and sell them

The Chemspec 860 as Glynn has said was made by ACE truckmounts in the US. ACE have now gone belly up however spares are available. Its a good powerful machine thats capable of running 2 wands with ease. The vac power is very good but again as Glynn has stated they do lack the heat when compared to the Hydra Master units.

Not ideal but for this total price (good van plus solid machine - even if it has poor heat) you could get a Lavor Hot Water Boiler installed like this one: eBay item number:170451420084

I bought one of these from Qwashers in April and have just had it installed with a PowerClean Tm that had rubbish hx which we removed from the machine (has 3 series vacuum blower) and we tested it last week and it now has fantastic heat - total cost including parts, controls, installation with auto flame cut-out etc £1100 will work upto 200bar and will produce constant heat for an SX15 for tile and grout - has to be plugged in to electric of course but runs on diesel - seems to be very practical solution - that van/tm combo is cheap at that asking price - if I didnt have one too many vans already I'd go for it myself!
